I bought a casual team to sort of ease back into playing and a real team for next season. I spent like $40-$50 and was planning on spending a lot more to build another team. I dont think I'm going to, now. On my casual team, I have had 2 somewhat competitive games this season.

The rest of the games went like this. 59-10. 105-6. 112-10. 105-21. These are absolutely not football scores. This is absurd. ESPECIALLY on a casual team, which I assume you have so people can play casually and have fun. You've really missed the mark here. I want to see close, interesting, fun games, not complete blowouts where 6 punts are returned for TDs.

Does Warrior General even watch football? Do you know how the games usually go? I get that this isn't football. That's okay. But it's supposed to be fun like football, right? It isnt.

I'm frustrated with this and I'm just about done. If this is what it's going to look like for my real team next season, I am definitely out. I won six championships in 21 seasons back in the old days, so it isn't like I'm clueless about how this game works.

I'm also not clueless about how this game doesn't work.

Can anyone tell me why I should keep buying flex and playing?

I agree with the sentiment here. Would love to see some scaling where, lets say, 18 year veteran builder builds a DT 20% better than the opposing OL guy, he's gonna crush that OL guy right. Then times that by 11, at every position this stat based game is gonna beat the shit out of the more casual fellow playing the game. No fun. Should the veteran scientist still win? Very likely.

But I do think more opportunity to win or just compete should scale into the game if, let's say, the casual dotbuilder has a fantastic AI going on.

That said, we ain't gonna get any scaling of any kind IMO. Finished product.

You've stated multiple times you want "fun" but haven't outlined what makes a game fun to you - just outlined what makes it not fun.

I can't speak for you, but for me fun was three things:

- Figure out if there's a way to beat the professional dot builders
- Make O and D plays - see if I could recreate things like the Bears 46 D and watch it succeed or fail, learn from it
- Hang out in the team forums with people I like chatting with

I was gone for 10+ years, came back and am having fun. Sure, half the games are boring from an outcome standpoint but I don't care about 100-0, what I have fun with is learning and then applying to get better while laughing on the team forums about how bad/ good our dots are playing. Playing this game alone sucks.

I'm not going to go back and quote all the absurd comments or assumptions about how this game is played or should be played or what information should just be handed to you on a platter. A lot of that information that you're seeking is already in the forums, you just have to make an effort to find it.

The game has been a finished product for a long time and for the most part, the people that are still playing it after all these seasons still enjoy it.

Everyone has had to learn how to build players and most people have refined their builds over time. There are no perfect builds and mine are far from perfect and No, I'm not going to open them up for you to see.

Bort has given you 4 free players to play with and they come with free boosts. Use those, don't spend any more money on the game until your comfortable in doing so, if that day ever comes.

Recycle all of your players at the end of the season (you get flex back when you retire them) and find a team that is restarting for season 118. There will be teams looking for players. Today is day 32 so in 8 days the process of building new players will begin.

Hope you find a way to enjoy the game. Good luck

No one here is going to give up their secrets. I've read that sentiment several times in the forums while looking for advice, so I know you know this. And now you know I know it.

So really, how much value is there in getting advice from someone who hopes to beat my team someday?

Please quit telling me that players are the people who should be helping me. Players aren't going to help me. And if you tell me I'm wrong and I go look at your players and I can't see any of their stats, then are you going to show us?

Let me just ask that here right now. Is there anyone here who is successful and accomplished who will open the stats on all their players so I can look at them and get an idea where my players should be at various points in their development? You don't have to tell me how to build players, just let me see what a good player build looks like.

Will anyone do that?

So your basically telling us you know or will learn how to build player's but you just want to know what a good end build looks like for a certain position because you don't trust the guides that are already out there or any agent willing to help you build player's, correct? Well there are different ways you can build almost every position depending on archtype used, etc. so one position player's build can be very different from another's at the same position. If you look at the Players Looking for Teams forum:https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum_thread_list.pl?forum_id=6 you will see this as their builds are all open so prospective Owners/Coordinators can see if any of the player's builds fit their scheme and if so they will send that agent a PM to try and pick that player up in the Off Season. If you need any further help, please PM me as I am done posting here now. If you don't want my help that is fine as well.

LVL 65 Zone/Int SS build that will be available next Season as he will hit LVL 79 by the beginning of next Season.

Thank you and have a great day!

Happy to send you a Gm offer from My Quo team...just relegated out of Pro after a coiple of seasons....All apart from 1 dot are mine so would help with attributes stats roster make up etc...My dots are good but not the best although built to a purpose at that time ...This is a regular team so if you prefer casual things are a little different but the basics are the same-(ish)

Also building is slightly different to pre crash and the custom pass plays have had a big influence and provided some fun unless youre playing the Mob who will tan your nawty bottom !!!

And welcome back

This right here. Someone mentioned that watching a player build up his game stats is fun, and I agree. But when I'm playing Expert Knowitall and his team of Perfects, my players aren't going to get ANY positive stats. The stats they get are pancaked and missed tackles mainly.

I think you are right about this being a "finished product"...finished in the sense that they just gave up on it because they made GLB2. I tried GLB2. I hated it. I'm not playing that. That's like this game with even worse problems.

I'm probably wasting my time here.

That's a fair question. I would enjoy getting beat by less than 60 points, while my players are able to score maybe 10-20 points and earn some decent game stats...a sack here, a hurry there, some pass completions that aren't swatted down by Perfect CB or Perfect FS. I would enjoy being a little tiny bit competitive in maybe...50% of my games...the other 50% can be those 60 point blowouts....because I don't expect to win every game being a newbie. But I do expect it to be fun to lose. Maybe not everyone can understand that.

What else would be fun? Learning how to build players by knowing EXACTLY what the stats do, what they contribute to, and how they all work together.

It would be fun if I was playing against people who have the same level of experience in the game as I do. Alas, that's not going to happen because the 15 people who play this game have all been here a decade and there are not enough newbies like me to fill out a team, let alone a league.

It would be fun if I could make a mistake in building a player and not completely doom his potential. It would be fun if all my current players were viable teammates in the rock bottom lowest newbie league there is.

It would be fun if there was more than one way to build a good player, if I knew how to build a good player, and there was game documentation that I could study to figure out how to build a good player rather than just throwing darts at the stat board and hoping for the best.

This game USED to be fun. I had a blast playing with all my friends back in the day. But it looks like Bort has just wrecked GLB and then abandoned it to work on GLB2. I'm fairly sure that's exactly what happened.

Thank you, I'll accept that. I am a pretty good DC now...not so great OC...and I've designed and used some custom plays on my CPU non-casual team. I watch them even though the CPU guys get utterly wiped out and could never, ever, ever, ever execute even a basic play (this, also, is an enormous problem...why are they SO bad?) and I can see some of the things I'm doing will probably work. Game planning, AI stuff, custom plays, DC/OC...IMO those are the things that are right about the game. The ability to really deeply gameplan is a stellar aspect of this game and, frankly, the reason I didn't just quit without comment a week ago. I love that part of the game.

I much prefer a regular team to a casual team for this reason. That's my favorite part of the game. That's the thing I've never found in any other football game online.

I've even had some success with the offensive plays I've made.

I'm going to play out at least some of next season. I'll move all my players over to my regular team and just do the best I can. Maybe I'll have fun with the game planning aspect and just not worry about building players. What I'm not going to do is constantly chase the perfect build. I'm also not going to pay to win...if I have to boost my players to be competitive, then I won't be spending any more money here. I gave up on pay-to-win games years ago.

Several agents that have lent a helping hand like Mauler, ZZ are very accomplished in the game and I would listen if they are speaking! When I came back they were there to answer what I thought might be dumb questions and ZZ even let me build some dots for one of his farm teams. Mauler offered to help with stadium construction and finances for a team that was started for new and returning agents. Both are agents that I highly respect and am grateful for upon coming back for they helped me when they absolutely didn't have to which happens a lot in this game when it didn't much before!

to you gentlemen!

Also, maybe I don't understand how this works, but...

I bought my regular team and it's in a league where the enforced age cap is 33d - 72d. Obviously, none of the players I just made are old enough to play on that team until next season.

I'm being told that my players are all trash and I should just retire them and start over.

If I retire all my players, where are they going to play? Not on my team...they aren't old enough.

The only fun part of this game for me is team management. It hasn't been a ton of fun GMing a team full of CPU players while I wait for my players to get old enough, so I'm really looking forward to having my own players on a regular team next season.

So am I just screwed?

You can ask to be dropped down at season's end and can retire those players where by creating them on day 40/41 you can sign them and bring them aboard your team. The option should be below the cash and selected region. You can choose to relegate down to rookie to restart your team
