but the test on confidence many seasons ago showed it didn't have the impact people thought it did

plus most people give the QB a max contract as well

Im building 2 same age with a little CONF difference and agree the VAs seem "limited"

90+ confidence is downright silly.

I generally aim for 77-80, and even that is probably overkill.

My 2 centavos. I think it helps to understand how it (confidence) works and I'm not just talking Bort quotes and such. Many of the interactions that happen in the game are 'area of effect' based or 'bell curve' style (well... half a bell curve anyways). With Confidence, I believe it is an area of effect. So take 2 QB's. One has 20 confidence and the other has 80. Same play for both... receiver is wide open and there is no pressure at all. I think both (if all other things being equal) have the exact same % possibility to complete the pass. Confidence, by itself, doesn't add or subtract anything to the quality or accuracy of the throw. However... same 2 QB's and now add in good coverage by a single defender (again, ALL things equal except Confidence rating)... and add in a defender crashing down on the QB... and here's where Confidence matters. The 20 will likely 'feel' the pressure when the defender is within 5 yards (a guesstimate) and will also feel 'less confident' he can fit the ball into the coverage (closeness of the defender to the receiver). The 80 Confidence Qb likely won't 'feel' the pressure until the defensive dot is much closer... say inside of 2 yards or less... and he'll feel more confident he can fit the pass into that coverage. Which means the high Con QB likely has a much better shot at a completion than the low Con QB in that situation. IMHO.

Confidence also helps trigger bonuses to SAs, Me thinks.

QB1 6'6" 260 lvl56/64 1074.8 - 721/1240 58.1% 96td/9 int 50 sacks

QB2 6'6" 259 lvl56/64 1071.8 - 681/1102 61.8% 81td/1 int 26 sacks

Same team, in the same offense for their entire little dot lives. Not sure if this is useful, but found it at least on topic.

QB 2 has 82 Conf and that was the dots 3rd attribute after throwing and vision. QB1 went strength third.

assuming at level 56 they don't have SA's like Pocket Presence and Tight Spiral maxed out yet - those have a large impact too

Correct, none of those SAs yet.

Laser Arm, RZF, QR for both so far

Honestly more QB's should use hail marry since its distance traveled by the ball.

I don't generally like RZF.
