#1 - In a recent Q&A Bort answered that the auto adjust system marks a play as success if it gain over 4 yds and failure if gain no yard or loss. Are there any modifier to this criteria for 3rd and 4th down situations?

Just for first down or a score. A first down or score is a success. - Bort

AUTO ADJUST CLARIFICATION
Q: Doug_Plank - Auto-adjust question - If the same package (using auto-adjust) is used in two different inputs, will it be treated as two different packages (with two different auto-adjust counters), or will it be treated as one package and have the bias adjustments carry over from input to input
A: Bort - Same package, carries over from input to input.

14. How exactly does the auto adjust option work in the advanced AI and packages?

It's pretty straightforward. If you gain good yardage on a play (more than 4 yds for rushes, distance varies by expected length for passes), the play's bias goes up and other plays' biases go down. If you lose yardage, the play's bias goes down and others go up. Small gains, such as 1-2 yds have no effect. The higher you put the "speed" value of the auto adjust, the more the biases are adjusted.

Hmmmm... maybe this is why the auto-adjust seems to shit on one specific type of our game plans. We actually set auto-adjust pretty high because for most of our game plans, it seems to work excellently. The one exception has been the short passing-focused game plan. The auto-adjust seems to hate it. Now, that I read this, I'm guessing that might be because the 'expected length' for passes is more than the 5-6 yards we're getting, so its neglecting to give these plays a positive bias, unlike the successful plays in our run-heavy or deep passing-focused game plans. So I guess I should have compensated for that? I wish I'd thought about this, before the play-offs definitely. The short passing focus seems to get murdered by the auto-adjust setting near high, at least that's what I've noticed.
