What people need to realize is that they are all crooks. The 2 party system is a complete and abject failure for democracy. It's was too easy for the clinton news network, and murdoch news to set up a donkeys vs elephants game. red vs blue. now the general public is too busy fighting among themselves, to realize it's all smoke and mirrors. we've been had.

I can't help but think the majority of people feel the same way. I also think a large majority from both sides want term limits.

I feel that way very much. Term limits might help a bit and I'd be for them. Three more things that would really help are;

#1, Complete disclosure of all parties involved in any campaign backing. That includes 'non-party' entities (like super pac's). Why? Simple... the way it is now money backing any political member can come from anywhere or anyone, including foreign governments. It's an easy matter to bypass the few rules in place that are supposed to keep our elections safe from outside interests and keep them purely American.

#2, A strong 3rd party. Personally, for me, I would prefer the Independent party to be that one. Not much of a Socialist party, People's party, Green Party, ect, ect, ect... supporter. Generally the Independent party tends to straddle the middle pretty well, seeing the quality of either side depending on the issue and what the best solutions are. A good solid 3rd party would divide the strength of the top two and force both Democrats and Republicans to the table to work together more than they do.

#3, Campaign fund limitations and equalizations. Right now it's all about the money and that's what turns most politicians into crooks. I've seen some 1st timer candidates that seem like they'll be good and ethical... but one term into the books and they turn into $ chasers and lose focus on the very people that voted for them. And I see that on both sides. Limiting the amount a campaign can spend... and making sure that all competing campaigns spend equally so the playing field is always level would take the bite out of big money corruption. (IMHO).
