I am trying to bring in active players to my team to get us active everywhere on the fourms

Next week is family reunion, and then (WOOOOO!) a trip to Saints training camp. I'll get back to you when I get back to my regularly scheduled life.
The question I'm wondering about is what will happen when the NFL actually kicks off, and fantasy football season along with it? A lot of us are probably using GLB (consciously or otherwise) to fill the NFL offseason void. Once fantasy season goes into full swing, there won't be as much time available for GLB game plans, scouting, etc. I'll still keep up, but I wonder about the overall participation level.

I'll still be around. I'm on my laptop all the time when watching TV anyway, and I avoid fantasy football.

Fantasy Football takes up less time then this game. I took 1st, 1st, 2nd last year in my 3 leagues. Key to fantasy football is watching the waviers. Takes like 2 mins between posts to look over at the NFL news to see who got hurt. You also can have your computer on while you watch ESPN. It will cut down participation a little but not that extreme.
Now teams with GMs who don't play FF will benefit the most because scouting takes up a lot of time.

Good points. I play college and pro fantasy and I like to watch the games as well. I still have a lot of fun with this game though so I won't be dropping it anytime soon.

I hate fantasy football. I love football for watching blocking schemes and defense and all the little things that don't show up on stat sheets. There's a reason almost all my players are defenders, and my WR is a downfield blocking specialist.

LOL Gwenn ... like the mentality!
I do agree that the proper approach to GLB would take more time than the average FF team. I guess it also depends on how many teams you manage, and how active those leagues are. A couple I'm in have message boards that move seemingly non-stop some weeks. Just keeping up with the chatter alone is time consuming!
From what I've seen on GLB, forum participation can be pretty sporadic (BBB15 excluded, of course!). I do wish more people would get on board and be active the way many of you have been. Heck ... half my own team barely posts more than a word or two on our private board!

We've managed to put together a really active team. We have people getting to do the OC/DC stuff during scrimmages, and are taking them seriously, so they can give more input next season. Its taken a lot of work and a lot of effort in the recruiting, but the results have been well worth it.
As for the mentality - I practically ignored my WR's first touchdown in a blowout game... but was ecstatic when she got her first CB pancake of the season.

LOL @ the pancake comment.
I've watched a lot of the teams that have active posters in here, and really am quite envious of the way you guys are set up. We started off behind the 8-ball when the previous owner gutted & ran to Africa. We've picked up players, etc., but unfortunately there isn't quite (IMHO) the understanding/committment that many other teams demonstrate that we need to move to the same class. I know it could be there ... just hasn't quite made it yet!

imho its really just about finding the right 3-4 people. Get enough people going to have a conversation, and give people a chance to give input, and a lot of others end up coming along.

I think you're definitely right on the mark with that assessment. Now if any of you guys would like to jump ship and take on a partial rebuilding project ... lol.
Sorry ... been a frustrating season ... didn't mean to turn it into a vent session!

No worries. It can definitely be a lot of work.
