Gotta admit this is one argument I simply don't get. The reason for the #1 not automatically getting the gear is because people ruined it by spaming players/plays just to get the gear... so they made it a raffle. Ever since then I just build dots the best I can and let the chips fall. I get MVP gear regularly and really don't pay attention as to the WHY it happened... I just figure I'm building my dots good enough to get considered for gear and that's good enough.
