every single OL would have strength, agility and blocking as majors as an example
every kicker and punter would have kicking/punting, strength and vision as majors
there are "best" attributes that would get chosen instead of making a trade-off based on archetype
Thus not getting rid of cookie cutter builds. But I still think it's a good idea. I mean yeah, the dots would become really good. But ALL dots would become really good. I think it could work out tbh.

Where it would change is what the secondary selections could be. Someone could go for Speed, Confidence, and Vision as secondaries for O-line... someone else might choose Confidence as one.. someone else might go with Stamina. So while many of the MAIN attributes would still be chosen as they are now, there's still room for some diversity. I KNOW I would really use it on some STOP builds and some LB and CB thoughts as well.
PS. I'll even go one step further and say that, as things are now... completely static and boring, I would probably stick around and play a bit longer if I had something new like this to fiddle around with and have more fun. Right now it's become redundant to simply plug in 'building formula X' for Dot build X and so on.

if the number of majors and minors remains the same, every OL would be like this
Majors Strength, Agility, Blocking, Speed (speed should be 4th, but some might choose vision)
Minors Vision, Stamina, Confidence
now if the number of majors and minors is adjustable, then perhaps
I would then go strength, agility and blocking as majors with the other 4 as minors
