Exploit blitzes wouldn't do the trick?

Yes, would help with the over-(ab)used O going on now-a-days.

For those of us the love defense, just being able to endlessly tinker around would be a sweet thing to enjoy... but as evileyez points out, I'm not sure how much 'rejuvenation' it would create or how long it would last. The #1 issue with the game, beyond having some simple season-to-season changes to eliminate the static deadness, is a severe lack of people... especially NEW people... but at least MORE people than we have now for sure. And changing the DPC won't change that at all.

There is no skill involved in that. You'd have the game busted the first day. Though I realize this isn't playing along with bhalls what ifs.

Rolling back to random sims each season is of more interest. Which Bort has suggested is entirely possible.... A long while ago that is

I d have homage build me a LB to break the game though. He deserves that since he started my run with those guys.

It's run it's course. It's always been a niche game. It's too complicated for an influx of new users from some million dollar advertising campaign folks champion for. It's easy to forget most of us still playing have been around since damn near the beginning and grew with the game

eh our current LB is still the best blitzing LB I've ever built... and he gets nowhere near the action.

Just some sarcasm there...the real issue is too many agents either driven away or bored with nobody new filling that slack...

Yes, but opening the DPC could get the slim amount of new users to try something out and get more interested.

Heck don't even open it up all the way, just loosen the restrictions. Let me line up CBs on the TEs decently out of various fronts, allow the safeties to be placed on either side, widen the OLB placement a bit on the edges and allow LBers to be placed wherever between the left and right edges instead of fixed positions w/ fixed blitz paths.

oh sorry i totally misread your question. If it were entirely opened to the point it was you could definitely shift the dline to help out as well as move the LB's wide enough while still blitzing.

I don't believe you could ever move the safeties to the opposite sides? It has been awhile.

The first part of eliminating static deadness is letting the game grow beyond the extreme use of some of the plays that have been stuffed down all our throats for way too long. If even just for a trial season there has to be some worth in that.

I think you had to use cover man just like now to get safties on the same side. You could try using safeties built like LBs and CBs built like safeties to take the shackles off. Build a team with just a few restricted LBs.

Honestly, just the DPC restrictions alone means that any safety has to have ~80 tackling, and if they don't have any intercepting ability, they should be heavy on FF, or at the very least have ~80 tackling.

i'd welcome any effort at all to mix things up. a few new offensive plays/ forms wouldnt hurt either
