Good DC's can use tags effectively enough that it's not going to hurt them a ton having pass plays out of GL, but will give the OC's a little extra to try and get some kind of advantage here and there.
I wish we could create our own offensive plays to run, maybe like 2 custom plays in a playbook. good DC's will tag dots according to how they appear to be used, so the type of formation shouldn't matter 100%.

Yes. Considering it's a 1000 times easier to OC than DC in this game, I don't see the problem. I do both at the WL level.

You can forget about creating O plays. That ship sailed a long time ago. Once they nerfed DPC, that showed everyone what direction the game designers preferred. Too much creation equated to too many opportunities for exploitation, which is ultimately why DPC got neutered.

The problem with Goalline and Big I is that they are overpowered. Any Joe Bob can throw together a gameplan where you just run outside runs out of those formations all game long and expect to score a few TDs. Taking those formations away would breathe life back into OCing and DCing as well. JMO

Creating our own offensive plays would be super boring (and really easy to dominate) and uber frustrating as a DC. Also you obviously haven't had to defend much GL with your comments.

Ya would just force more people into single back running and the passing game wouldn't change at all. They will be adding some forms to GLB2. Will be interesting if those translate to GLB1.

GLB1 needs more than new plays/formations though. Christ at this point i'd probably settle for a wheel 'o sim spin by Bort and randomly upload an older season sim each "year"

They could start by mirroring the passing plays. Most runs have a mirror to the other side, but very few formations do this for the passing plays. It's one of the reasons the run game is easier, more plays to run. Just look at how it works, you can sweep all day and never come close to the RPP.

I definitely agree but I'm keeping my hopes at a minimum.

Oh likely not. Though DD suggested it's not beyond impossible the other day - which is the first drip of anything on v1 in a year

The risk/reward is so much higher with running as well, everyone one at the top levels of the game has a couple decent int CBs and just a couple ints and you're spiraling into a disaster. The chances of fumbling though are so much lower and even if you do fumble you still have a good chance of recovering it. Also you have the risk of sacks and incomplete passes putting you in unfavorable downs and distances. It's easy to load up on bTEs and roll over defenses repeatedly pounding the ball out of Big I. Between defending the inside run, outside run and passes it's damn near impossible to stop everything.

lol any experienced DC in this game would be really thinking that you have no idea what you are talking about

...you want GL passing options, give us back our DPC then you're welcome to them!

Also have the RNG to consider. Run all sweeps and you only need about a 5% success ratio to get blow out level points scored. Passing/receiving has build in controls from Bort to keep the success rate on long passes down low and controlled passing attacks rarely produce single play TDs.
