Made obvious by the fact Lawwie and MatRomo are arguing with me.

what if teams had a level cap?Originally posted by Theo Wizzago
I'm really not for going back to the old way (level based)... but I'm also of a mind that going only age based also isn't right. There should be a way to incorporate both into figuring out how to keep the teams competitive while allowing for nonboosters and such to be a vital part of the game as well. So I vote -1 to the OP... but only because it doesn't really fix things right. The answer is to have a better system which uses everything smartly.

what if teams had a total level cap? so maybe a pro team could only have players whose levels added up to 3850. that way teams would have a reason to have some lower level players. 55 players at the same highest level is boring, because it doesnt force you to make any hard choices.

Looking for a viable way to play the game for free? League underground. Getting loltrophies from being 200 days older than your competition despite being the same level isn't something that paying players want to run into.

I suppose the alternative is to enforce a decline period on dots that don't boost that starts much earlier, kind of like how bots that don't boost in GLB2 have a significantly reduced lifespan.

Oh? No? You don't like the idea of a decline because you want to have a free dot play games with 200 days of extra training instead?

Can we this up?

The only mistake made in going to age based leagues was not giving the free players first. It's too late to worry about it now.

Actually, the vast majority of non-boosters never got trophies because they were on teams that were merely desperate to finish up their roster. Would be a team with a handful of good builds, some shit builds, and non-boosters. Those teams were no match for well-organized teams that had full rosters of boosters and knowledgeable agents.

Just another one of those "monster under the bed" myths.

yeah... but I remember running into SSB teams plenty of times that had a pretty damn huge advantage

so you'd see a "let's not boost for 3 seasons, than we can start boosting and wreak everyone since we've been able to train a lot more"

hell it's a shitload easier than the bouncing people around teams to get them enough money to train while not putting them on the roster so they didn't get XP... hell I remember teams would have 3+ teams just to get this done.

yeah, i dont see the issue being non boosters. its ssb teams that are the issue. it wont take people long to figure out how to get around the "must be on a team to train" rule
