Start at rookie..easier to fill a roster..starting in Pro is a terrible idea, almost impossible to fill a competitive roster being a new owner at that level. Also totally unrelated but, get an avatar, hard to take anyone serious who has one blank.

My advice is to head into the Pee Wee Silver leagues to start. There's a few human owned teams that you will bump into for some very solid competition, but enough CPU owned teams that you will see exactly what your AI inputs do in a game.

I also like the idea of picking up a Casual Rookie team. However, it's very difficult to keep a team together for a run through the Casual Leauges. Most agents want their dots stacked up against the best in the game - which are typically in the regular leagues.

I started PW and moved into regular leagues. After getting our ears whittled pretty good, I decided to drop my team and focus on scouting in the regular leagues and coordinating in Casual.

Good Luck, and welcome to the addiction.

I wouldn't start out in PW only because it's so much different from Rookie and the regular leagues. You'll also get more of a challenge in Rookie. Unless you plan to be a PW owner that makes all 55 dots for the roster and recycles each season, Rookie is probably the best route.

Yeah, Pee Wee is a completely different animal from Rookie, and the lessons you'll learn in Pee Wee won't necessarily be correct for the regular leagues.

If you want to learn how to run a normal team, you either need to own or coordinate a normal team, not Pee Wee, not Casual.

With PW at its current state he could build pee wee dots how he wanted and still be very competitive in pee wee silver while also learning how to build an offense and defense. Starting in rookie without a set plan doesn't seem like the smartest idea to me. It's hard enough to get a full boosting rookie roster as a vet of this game, much less as a new owner in this game. Pee Wee would give him the chance to build dots how he wanted and learn how to build an AI while also staying very competitive. Buying a Pee Wee team is also less expensive than a rookie team so that's a plus.

So, in my opinion, you should start off in Pee Wee silver and recuit/build some non-boosting dots and play around with the offense and defense until you get a feel of how everything works. Then move up to the regular leagues once you learn the ropes.

That's probably the best solution of all, actually.

Hey all,

I just bought a casual team and having the difficulty recruiting that you suggest. BUT my big problem is I can't change the Depth Chart to put the new recruits in their starting positions.

Whether I just change the Depth Chart and try to save it (update changes), or, create a preset first, and, then try to save to that, GLB's just not updating my Depth Chart.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Does everybody bump into this?

Click auto reorder and save. Then go in and try to switch up your chart. If you have picked up dots that have played a game within the last day or so, they won't be available to play until their 2 days is up.

Do that, but do it on the special teams section. It is special teams that must be auto-reordered due to a long standing issue where CPU's put too many players on the special teams chart and it bugs it out.

Ah, yes, my bad. I forgot that bit of information. Thanks Bane!
