He's right. The message shows up in the lower toolbar (and not right away), but it no longer shows up in the inbox indicator at the top of the screen (shows 0/0 instead of 1/0 when I have a message waiting).

If you've minimized the lower toolbar, you no longer get an alert about new PMs.

And even then, the 1 message in the lower bar seems transient. It showed I had one, now it doesn't (even though it is still unread).

nice upgrade huh.

now we have to guess if we have new messages or not.
