I things do not shake out I tend to agree. As much as I thought any league contraction was disastrous when it was done, the damage is done and now we are just riding the sled. So may as well trim the leagues as we go.

That said, I think it would be best to wait until GLB2 is out and marketed to see if there is any cross over boost to numbers.
