Pro Level, however if the team owner doesn't contact us and we move the team without their consent it could create issues if he had plans to sign players etc. It's definitely something worth considering.

It should be noted that on Bort's initial sort there is a check for blank rosters, especially in WL

The reason owners don't contact you, is because they would have their stadium reset/reduced. If they simply get demoted after a losing season with cpu players they keep the stadium.

Now that's the ol' Catch 22 logic
A catch-22 is a paradoxical situation from which an individual cannot escape because of contradictory rules.Catch-22s often result from rules, regulations, or procedures that an individual is subject to but has no control over. One connotation of the term is that the creators of the "Catch-22" have created arbitrary rules in order to justify and conceal their own abuse of power.

That's only if they are requesting to move down to lower leagues, a move to Regional Pro doesn't really effect a team too much and WL to National is no change at all

Do you really think that these teams are bombing to move down? I am just not sure how effective that would be, I could look into removing the penalty for moving down into Regional Pro for teams with empty rosters.

6 teams with no chance. There ought to be a rule that if you can't get a competitive roster in by season rollover your team is dropped automatically to Reg Pro Normal. There are usually teams with full rosters in Reg Competitive (where the Pro teams demote to for some reason) that will be ready to play pro. Give teams a chem bonus for agreeing to promote (something like 4/4/4).

Season 23, Regional Pro League #12

Interesting how there were More Reg Pro teams way back then and something like this is happening now.

And I like the idea of chem bonuses for self-promotions

I would guess that only 2 pro leagues are needed with the top 4 in each going to WL. The closer GLB 2 gets to being ready, the number of teams needed and dots made will drop significantly. There are already teams deciding to retire dots and disband that have recently started.

It will be interesting to see how many new dots are created next season and how many new teams are created.

Bort may not intend for GLB 1 to go away but it may due to lack of interest even if he intends to keep it running.

My CPU dot team in RPL is 6-6 right now, and should finish 9-7 and probably make the playoffs.

You can almost hear taps playing in the background....

Here's my contribution......

13-0 vs. 0-13. CPU team scores more points than it has all season and limits my human team to less than it has scored all season. Absolutely complete total f*cking sim-cheating bull$hit.

Crap like this is why this game is dying. This wasn't some lol-cares or crappy game-planning thing. The sim just decided that a completely hapless CPU team should beat the #1 team in their conference.

Not another penny to this game.

I started one of these conversations many season ago due to a like result - my team was beaten in a conference championship game by a CPU club with a human owner. I wrote it off to his amazing OAI and DAI with the fact that CPU players can be cycled on and off the team until you get a player that performs well (they are random generated). Granted my team had some builds that were lacking and we didn't work real hard to get ready for the "CPU" game. Chit happens

I could buy that excuse for the most part except this particular franchise had been CPU all season and had been losing games, badly, all season. There is no way this was a AI thing or a dot thing. This was simply a completely screwed up algorithm that just doesn't make any sense. These are the same dots that had not played anyone competitively all year. For aI on this one, I ran a blowout specific AI that prevents me from going unbalanced against teams I blow out (no auto-adjust and a pretty basic 50/50 run/pass split). I ran my base defense that I've run for just about everyone else all season. There's really no reason whatsoever to explain how that suddenly gave up 30 points and my offense completely fell apart. Complete sim screwjob, plain and simple.
