I think the biggest travesty of all this is that Cam Newton was just ignored for this list.
And here's the simple answer for you:
GLB is a point system, you can only assign so many points to so many skills before the end of leveling hits. If you try to be too balanced you will not be even near as good at the other two things as your contemporaries who focused on one, and since the 'balance' has to be there for these monster 160+ passing QBs to not just romp all over other teams and guys with 160 speed not to just run away from errbody it makes guys who have settled for 100 passing and 100 speed instead just absolutely rubbish in comparison on both accounts.
The real problem lies in support skills, every skill has them and so you have to focus on too many areas AND support just to be good.
160 throwing is worthless if your confidence/strength/vision are shite, 160 speed is worthless if your agility/carrying/strength are shite. it's too much to split the points up into and then on top of that you often end up sacrificing some Special Abilities because you have to fill out more support skills.
You see, this is a game. In real life some people are just born with the ability and work hard to develop into dual threats... but here it's just not viable.
