People over estimate the need for that high of jumping on a WR in my opinion. Bort has said that the general rule is that the QB aims for the numbers on a WR. Jumping doesn't add to the catch radius. Jumping adds to the "jumping catch radius" should a jumping catch be required. I have not seen a shit ton of jumping catches to warrant 90 jumping. That's a huge investment for a handful of jumping catches a season in my opinion.

jumping is a large component of the normal catch roll. It also just happens to be a larger part of jumping catches.

Question~~ When catching the ball in traffic as an offensive receiver, how are these three attributes weighted in relation to each other? Strength, Agility, jumping
Answer~~ jumping > Agility > Strength

Question~~ In this cb vs WR roll (step 4), does Jumping always come into play for the WR like it does for the cb (step 2/3)? or Is WR jumping only for "special" catches like high throws or diving catches? Has the above information been changed or updated since it was posted? Can you elaborate on the WR vs cb roll at all? At the very least, is it logical given real life pass interference rules, or do players actually fight for the ball?
Answer~~ The interaction is still the same. It's pretty much that whoever has the highest "get the ball" roll gets to act first. This includes your vision, jumping, catching, strength attributes, and catch/swat SA's/VAs/pcts. Jumping improves the WR catch roll for all catches, but much more so for jumping/diving catches.

I never said jumping didn't help. I said investing to get jumping into the 80's or higher is too big of an investment for a WR. That was based on the link on the previous page of a WR with 90 jumping.

I would tend to agree with this. My Power WR had about 70+ jumping and was made as tall as possible to help and he caught about everything chucked to him... even in heavy traffic. I just didn't get the rest of the dynamics quite right and he usually got tackled shortly after the catch. Definition of a "possession receiver".

and you just repeated the same blanket statement again

the priority Wise used here was catching>jumping>speed>agility and it worked out pretty well last season
caught 74% of his targets, for 1200+ yards with 16 TDs
