In my opinion what GLB needs is GLB 2.0. A completely redesigned product that takes to good from the initial design of the game combined with the various changes that have been implemented over time (and maybe some others that were never implemented because of fear of how they would affect what I imagine is a fairly complex, patched together code base).

For me the app would have been a priority. Instead of killing it they should have tried to make it better and expanded to android. A mobile site may have been even better. I'm not at home in front of my PC much so I used the app a lot. Even if I was home it was way easier than a browser. Instead they just gave up. Just didn't feel like fixing it. A GLB2 would have worked but I'm not sure if I would even be interested no matter how much I truly like this game.

Bort like his customer click mouse button as much as possible.

This is a big problem on a mobile device. The app had everything stream lined. It's not just all the extra clicks but you also have to pinch and zoom or you hit the wrong buttons. I mean the choose player pull down is right beside the log out button.

If something happened it is kind of a deal breaker for me. If I can no longer train and manage players in a resonable way from my mobile I'm not sure how I can continue playing. I mean this is 2013 and training, apply SPs, ect for 50+ players is absolutely horrendous on a mobile. I will literally not have time to play this game any longer. The app made it possible to very quickly manage multiple players which was an absolute must for me.

I know they took it out of the App Store but I am hopeing this is just a bug and they didnt kick us off of it.

finally.

thank you catch and bort.

I suspect they looked at the number of people who used the app and made a business decision based on that analysis. A mobile site would've been a better avenue to explore since that would've benefited both iPhone and Android users.

I would think the new games will be much more mobile friendly. The playing field is much different than it was when GLB was conceived.

To be honest I believe it was pure laziness. I truly believe they no longer care about making this game better. It is regressing rather than moving forward. Everything is NGTH. "hey can we get this to make the game more playable, Please?!", response "We don't really feel like getting off the couch today, NGTH".

This may be true but there is no way I would even even try them. I came here for the football aspect and uniqueness of the game. They have given up on their own game after we have spent shit tons of money on it. Trying a new game would be like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown.

Probably about time for someone from this end of things to weigh in here...

As far as concerns about the iPhone app, this is accurate:

Per Catch, GLB is no longer supporting the app.

And I haven't specifically discussed this with Bort/DD, but this...

...sounds accurate. Let's not forget that the guys running this site are not rubes. They don't make arbitrary decisions about the business. It's not a secret that we've been focusing on new projects, and I get that a lot of that the activity happening here is not immediately apparent on your end. ...yet. But if it helps, I can confirm that YES, the developers of this game are still present and are, in my experience, anything but "lazy".

But I love football. That is why I am here and not the game I previously played. I am a customer here. The amount some of us payed to the game we should expect VIP treatment or at least not have a neglected game. What in god's name would make me move to one of these other projects rather than some other game that is more established and can at least update an app. I am here only because it is football not because my loyalties to ownership.

Your flex here will work on new game/s as well.

Don't be shocked if its another football sim, I won't be surprised.

I have spent my share of money here, too. If and when a new game is released I will check it out anyways .

If it is a football game I will try it. If it is Gun Wars or Bort Farm no thanks.

All I want is to go back four days before they turned the app off. The only thing out dated that I could see was the BT value. It said 12 instead of 15. If there is no more major changes to training I don't see why they would need to cut us off. All it does is make sure my 60-120 dots a season will now be 5-8 a season. Looks like yet another CPU roster will be in the game replacing a human roster.

I've never had or used an iPhone, so can't speak to the App. Nor do I know what kind of resources (financial or otherwise) GLB was devoting to "supporting the app," but if not doing so makes the game unplayable for even a small number of agents, then doesn't seem like a good decision to me. More than half of internet users now use a mobile device (phone/tablet). Why not make it easier for them? I've tried GLB on a Kindle and its not very easy to navigate. Hard to believe GLB doesn't have an m dot version.
