I think they bring much needed comic relief to a serious topic like dotball. They help ease the ever increasing burden of trophy.gifs missed.
On the other hand, it seems unfunny people like to try to piggyback on them to make a funny, and it just comes off as a desperate cry for attention and affection. Probably because they either weren't held enough as a baby or were held too much as a child.

to trivialize original thinking requires no thought so they (parody threads) are perfect for most agents .....
no , really ..... all posters put some thought into their posts ..... only the astute see that .... the rest consider anything outside of their ability to comprehend , to be thoughtless ....
