I know of some of my friends that have kinda given up on recruiting and have sold off some of their teams to they could build all the dots they need... sometimes the whole team full. So, while some of what Hatch and Dubs says is true, it is also true it's just getting really hard... unless you ARE in a deep network... to fill rosters anymore.

Just teach nubes to build good dots, then they will be everywhere.

Hmmm, I've always believed that the best GLB player just may be the guy who just logged on... Keep the faith yello, recruiting sucks but it can be done

That is surprisingly difficult.

I do not build WL great dots.

But I build Reg Pro good dots at least.

But I have laid out everthing from generalized posts, more specific instructions and step by step build maps

And people STILL build dots that cant keep their EL over their level.

Not sure what I lack in the teaching department but its something to be sure.

I am.

Just gets frustrating when I am in the middle of work, home stuff car maintenance and writing a book and I have to spend days recruiting for a game.

Fun to a point, but also very frustrating.

when you have to worry about 30 teams, this tends to happen. if you had 1 or 2 teams, you would be fine. nothing against but since im not any good either, but i couldnt sign a dot with an offtopica team since i know its just a bunch of randomness of a network that can only succeed by getting the best agents in glb all on one team.

OT has earned hardware a few times in recent seasons and only one of those was that team. We do not totally suck.

As for it being one team, I only HAD one rookie team that I was trying to coax along. Had two in the recent batch but one of them was being run by the HC totally.

The other teams are pick up dots. There is no build coaching to do there. Builds are done when they sign.

And really it shouldnt matter how many teams. It was all laid out in the network and team forums, it was all alerted to look at the forums. And it was for the most part totally ignored. Not sure how that gets better with less teams or worse with more.

Now if you mean I should have spent time peering into each guys build after he made it and told him what he did wrong and to start over.....55 dots times 10-20 minutes each is out of the question. I dont have 20 hours of life to nurse maid people through builds, even with one team. And if I did, they probably would resent it anyway IMO. And once the build is screwed....?

yeah but you see it all from your point of view, for us with the dots, we see it as a bunch of mediocre teams thatll probably feed into one or two teams. i might as well join a network thats proven to be a good network.

personally, ill sign with a non network team before a network team, i know lots of agents who are the same way. itll be hard for you to recruit since so many of us think that you just have 20 teams out there that feed into one team and you still need top agents to bring a bunch of dots over and to coordinate it for you.

Problem is noobs don't give a shit. You can't teach someone that doesn't want to learn.

So I guess you aren't going to accept that offer then?

If thats how people think so be it. But I have 8 Gold and Silver Trophies (not counting the silvers that came with the golds) and only one of those was with JD and Companies assistance and WITH their assistance we demoted from Nat Pro before we came back up and got it, which doubled the number of times I demoted from Nat Pro with that team since season 16. Its just not that easy without a big ole boy network. I may not be a WL maverick, and I may have a tough time putting it together for NPro even. But I aint the suck.

As for 20 to 1, not really. As noted above the builds in the 20 rarely rate well enough to make the Miracle. The 20 mostly feed the second tier clubs. I have had maybe one or two dots go from rookie to the Miracles with my networks. Between people dropping out of GLB or building horrible dots, thats all we have managed. Not counting my own dots of course.

Now that said, there are two solid teams that are at 240 this season. Not all of those are the original teams and some are not OT committed (like Blings buddies) but I am thinking I might get some good replacements out of there. We will see.

What were we talking about? Lost track.

"noob" is not a tag I apply to someone based on how long they've been here. I still run into season 1 guys that dump SPs into SAs upon creating their dots.

I know it can't be me.

Is it me?

people want to be on a WL team but they also want to be able to be competitive. Maybe they didn't think you would be competitive in the WL? But why on earth would anyone think that?

I dunno, our HC OC DC and half the agents were ring wearing WL champs, and we had the highest effective level in the league.

Some decliners true, more than a few. But still.

Effort goes a long way. Championships can be hard to come by and at times, the playoffs too but a team should always be competitive. That's the main thing I look for when deciding which team to sign on with. I also prefer to be in elite to see where I stand against the best possible competition. An active forum with some gameplanning helps too. As an agent, if you don't see anything regarding gameplanning posted or tactics, etc than most of the time you assume there isn't any going on and then what's the point?

I don't pick the teams with the best owners but I will pick the teams with owners that I know will put the effort in. Those are the teams I'll stick with from start to finish.
