Just stop.

If your goal is to put a player on the field that will be entirely useless, I say go for it. If you thought O-linemen were slow before, try putting them at FB. The HB will be past them pretty much at the handoff. Hell, even on the really slow developing QB Draw plays, the QB would probably still get to the LOS before an o-linemen playing FB.

OT to bTE is horrible.
Can do when have too (GL formation and such), but these OT at TE moves like turtles.

OL at bFB is likely worse, but I never dared to try.

I've found OT at TE to be tolerable, but you must must MUST use an OT with a lot of Speed and Agility if you want them to be useful at all.

Purely to save flex.

LOL- did this years ago before archetypes- built two OTs as DEs to see how they'd play in rookie; the real dots were on a peewee team getting tons of cash for EQ so the first season I filled with cheapos. Liked the way they played enough that I kept them around for special teams.

Granted, this was season 8 or 9, so it was awhile ago.

Cuz they be in short supply

We put a lot of effort into getting an extra .5 gain on our dots attributes, so why take a minimum 5% hit to all his attributes by using a Dot OOP. Easy to get away with at lower level leagues, sometimes necessary due to recruiting issues, maybe even a good trick against a weaker DAI, but, IMHO, if you are playing against good competition and that's what you should always assume, it's a huge mistake to use Dots OOP.

There are times a little oop gives you flexibility and unpredictability.

But as far as OL STOPs on D or as TEs, I was more thinking about a cheap way of playing a side team.

Or more relevantly, maybe a way to have a bevy of gap filling dots in the wings in case you just can not get a free agent in a needed slot.

In that situation, is it better to have a 100 EL hit signing some lousy dot to fill the gap?

Or the CPU disgrace using CPU?

Or your lol OL STOP that you have craftily built as a TE for just such a Roster Emergency?

Kinda thinking out loud and jesting. But its not entirely off the wall. Right now I have national pro teams that are jonesing for a Blocking Tight End or Fullback. If I had a STOP OT that was built the right way, maybe that would work.

Apparently not, per the above posts (though there seems to be some debate), but it was a thought worth discussing.

LOL

I Thought a STOP OT at CB would be more than enough entertainment.

Yeah... that's about what I've seen before. It's a tricky lil' thing to see a STOP center with 150 speed playing as safety... and moving like a snail in contact cement. The brain says, "But he has 150 speed!" and the game says, "hahahahahahahahahha! Not anymore he don't!"
