Special teams isn't really something that can be taught. It's purely trial and error.

True... that's how learned... but there IS some things you can figure out with logic. Like where the gaps are and how to exploit them. And what skills makes best ST players. I don't go around thumping my chest like some ST'ers do... but my setups do good enough to regularly get MVP gear and win games and that's really what most ST coaches are looking for.
