I ran the exact same base defense I have for last 3 seasons vs Gurupies.. Not an excuse, they beat us but wish I had done just a couple things Congrats to both teams in final they have earned it

In this thread, people who lost in the playoffs tell people who won in the playoffs that winning in the playoffs is no big deal.

I have t won a WL title, and I understand what they are saying.

Apparently once you win one the effort and desire just isn't there anymore. You still care but not as much, so losing in the playoffs doesn't sting as much if at all.

Secretly, that's the reason I have t one anything yet, I've been doing it on purpose so the effort stays there.

I'm starting to think if I ever win in WL I shouldn't give a care again because there is nothing else to play for.
Might as well go out on top and quit the game all together due to reaching the pinnacle of success.
I do understand what everyone is trying to say, but to also throw in there that someone isn't giving it their all or they could of won this/ that if they tried is bullshit. Maybe if you play the game you should try harder to win without the excuses.

I get what they are saying, as I had a similar feeling once I won my first Pro Gold. With that said, I think it is shitty of those who have won and don't care to try to crap on the accomplishments of those who are just now about to experience it. If folks don't give a crap about WL anymore, just say congrats and be done. No need to try to downplay the current WL season.

To be accurate, it was McBriar who did the shitting and he hasn't won anything. In fact, he's notoriously terrible at the WL. I just explained why someone wouldn't think of Duff or Duckies as great teams. When you've never even made the WL playoffs before, it's hard to see you as elite. But for the record, the WL is a far cry from what it used to be. There's a reason I didn't get a trophy until s30.

I said they weren't pound for pound the best teams and that they benefited from how the cards fell (Doof specifically).

I wouldn't call that 'shitting'. If it is, we've really gotten pretty boring.

And tbf, "notoriously terrible" still equates to 2 silvers from early USAPL (when USAPL was the premier league), 2 Casual Pro Golds (to appease madVenger here), a GLB Pro Tournament Gold and silver (appeasing Hood here, congrats to them ) and 3 WL silvers. And my dots won WL gold w/ Asau.
