Again, if you had a team with absolutely NO stops at all, you would find it MUCH easier to field a quality DEFENSIVE ST setup (stopping your opponents returns) than a quality OFFENSIVE one. So having extra offensive-minded stops really helps out a lot. Not only that, but having 4 STOP centers also saves you from draining stamina from both your offense and your defense by giving you 4 dots that can play ST's exclusively.

4 is a little too much of an investment there.

You could go with less... I like 4 because it gives me the following scenario (generally, almost all of the time);
BW's being 2 STOP centers and either a FB or a TE in the middle... and leaves me with 2 more STOPS for the front line (OU's usually). For punt returns it gives me PP1 and PP2, and either both SE's or SB's depending on what I have available from the offense to round out the formations.
If you go with 3 STOP centers, you can still do really well. Even 2... but it REALLY depends on the team's owners and recruiters and OC's and DC's desires. I've always liked the combo builds for playing ST's but not all teams like them or use enough of them. And I've seen some teams with minimal offensive players needed (like only 2 TE's, 1 FB, 2 HB's, 1 QB, and 5 WR's [normal O-line setups apply though])... and load up on defensive players. Great for stopping returns... not so great for your own returns. Quality balance is hard to achieve sometimes... which is why I like using Offensive STOPS more than defensive ones... because I simply haven't had any issues fielding a quality defensive ST setup... just offensive ones.

(P.S. Fyi... just to let you know that I was just yankin yer chain in that other thread [tween you and bama]. Somebody's gotta keep you oversized texans in line. )

IMO the value of a STOP doesn't come from his build, archetype or SA tree, its merely about having several guys with nothing but ST VAs. This is where the big value is for having a ST only player(s) vs. one that plays O or D as well as ST.

Jack of all Trades CBs. Speed, Agility, Strength, Tackling as majors. Vision, Jumping, Stamina, Confidence as minors. Blocking is the only thing you need from the O side to make a dual threat STOP out of the JoaT CB. Monster Hit can be taken as a bonus SA and First Step and Change Direction are the #1 and #2 SAs on the tree, so you can use them for both sides as well. You can make the CB decently heavy or you can make your CB really light and try using DvG.

I don't like using FBs because the AEQ shopping is terrible.

Not counting the return specialist, I'm carrying 8 STOPS on my team. Mostly O line.

When I did the math with a full lineup there was room for 7 stops.
1 KR leaves 6. 8 is a bit high

These days you generally want 4 TEs and lots of CBs, so there shouldn't be room for that many.

One thing I don't like about C's for STOP's
is that you can't enhance Tackling for your Multitraining.
Otherwise, they are my preference.
