not giving up big plays is really the goal. find yourself a stud blitzing lb. make him rolb and blitz him every single play. youll be shocked how often hes untouched straight to the qb. play conservative with evryone else and the qb cant find anyoneto throw to. if your dline is good then no worries you litrally never have to d gameplan aagain

When watching the play by play, how can you tell if a defense has set to run or pass defense. Trying to gameplan against tendencies and have not determined from play by play if you can tell tge difference. Any ideas?

3-4

100 medium
100 balanced
100 pass
all dots except Dl on pass focus
no blitz

profit in prep. It totally sucks to watch prep. Sorry.

PM me if you want help vs RQBs, etc.

Always play pass IMO

Ezra, thanks. In the past, that was how I always set it. I have noticed in some scrimmages that against some teams that are very run heavy, setting to run defense has proved helpful.

What I was more looking for however is for my offense. If I see a team plays pass defense exclusively, I might try a heavier run defense (and vica versa). Ivan note tendencies of teams that favor defending balanced, strong side or weak side, just not sure how to tell if they are laying back in pass defense or up close in run defense. Of course if everyone is playing 100 pass defense, that would explain why I couldn't see a difference.

In the past at least, you could see the defender step back to read a play in pass D, or step to the line in run D. I am not sure if the sim mechanics have changed or not.

If a team is run heavy, expect a low scoring game. If you score quickly, they will own the clock. The best run D is a good run O.

That said, if you are a top team and expect to win, also expect tons of passing when trailing by the opponent. The way that comeback/late game VAs stack, I'd prefer to be in pass D when that happens.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the tips Ezra. See you in the playoffs (hopefully)

Unless something has changed in the last couple of seasons, I always found that 4-3 had better coverage than 3-4. The linebackers in 3-4 just acted weird.
