Depends on how they implement it. I've seen forums where you can over-ride your own Ignore list on a post-by-post basis. So, if I have jampysos Ignored, but there's a thread where it looks like he might actually be posting something I'd like to read, I could open up just the posts I want to read, but he'd still be Ignored on everything else.

But I've also seen Ignore buttons implemented the way you're talking about too. And that's idiotic.

As always, it's all in the implementation.

Yeah, I mean...these are the people that in GD and FFA unlock horrible threads that were locked by users and lock threads that don't violate any forum rules in "self governing forums".

The people that think making all of the GLB forums like GD, TT, and FFA is a good idea are ignorant to what is about to happen.
