Check with the agent(s) in question to see if they got game XP for the week that they changed teams. If they didn't then that portion of the code isn't doing what its supposed to do and the agent can file a bug ticket.

As for this suggestion, after chatting with the OP a bit, +1 from me.

+1 to that aspect. But missing xp is no longer a concern.

As long as it only happens ONCE, it's ok. But if it happens more than once it DOES cause issues. I have 3 dots which were all created on the same day for different teams. One of those dots is still on the original team... but the other 2 had their original team fold after a few seasons. Signed with a new team that needed my dots to finish that season. Then that team recycled and restarted and I had to sign with a 3rd team. Both of those dots are now 550 XP behind the one that never changed teams. They level up at different times and have been relegated to backups because they're off-level with the rest of the team. Now they WILL catch up... AT THE END of their builds... but not until then. For myself, it matter not whether my dots are starters or backups... I'm just not one of those peeps. But there ARE agents out there who would NOT like this at all. And it is SO fixable. Each season, every dot SHOULD get 16 games' worth of experience. But they DO NOT if they don't get a chance to PLAY those games. Those dots shouldn't be penalized for circumstances beyond their control... and getting them the proper amount of XP AFTER the regular season is done (even, perhaps, AFTER the post season is done), gets those dots back on track for next season and beyond.

Did this happen before or after the updates I posted from the change log? If after, have you submitted a bug report?

I created these two TEs on the same day

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4318188

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4318202

The first missed out on 2 games in S32, Dub J's fault XD, but is only 25 XP behind....it must hurt a lot more the first season though.

When you say missed two games, was that dot not on a depth cart or not on a team? I assume you mean DC, just wanted to check. However, I would have thought that if you lost out on game xp the difference would be much bigger. Did these dots always boost at the same time?

Game XP is awarded when a game is simmed. I believe in his situation he had his dots on teams that played on day 2 and moved them to a team that played on day 1 after the day 1 team had played. This caused his dot(s) to not be on a roster at game time.

sehorn31's situation was the same. Dots were traded on an odd day and one team played on even days and the other on odd days. The dot(s) from the even day team went a "week" without being on a roster for a game.

After. And I did submit a support ticket... but it's not a bug. It is working as it's supposed to, by design, but that design probably didn't take into account this particular issue. I believe the change was made to keep TEAMS and AGENTS from exploiting the issue and thereby getting in an extra game and/or the extra XP from such an exploit. For that reason, the change works perfectly. Nobody can get more than 16 games played in a season. But where it MISSED was when a dot changes teams. Miss one game and the XP from that missed game... not a big issue. But miss a second game and suddenly you're over 500 XP behind a dot created the exact same day. Miss another game and you're nearly over 750 points behind... miss a 4th game and you are now 1 full level behind in XP. I seriously doubt anyone thought that this particular issue would happen... and, as far as I know it hasn't... yet. As it is now, I have 2 dots behind 550 XP from their brother dot and am just paying attention to be SURE it doesn't happen anymore... even if it means turning down offers to finish out a season on a CPU team... should it come to that.
All I've ever said is that it would SEEM to be an easy fix. We already have several changes to make sure even PeeWee dots can reach plateau... so that's why I can't figure out why this particular "issue" isn't repairable. But then, I'm not a coder and couldn't tell you just how hard it really would be.

It doesn't have to come down to that, tbh. You just need to make sure that should you end up changing teams midseason you don't move from a team that hasn't already played a game for a given "week" to one that has.

But why should agents need to worry about this, just because they came up with a crappy way to try to stop players from getting an extra game? Just do it the right way, and no one has to worry that they do a legitimate team move, but just cost themselves XP.

I'm pretty sure they have boosted at the same time every season. I didn't think of that as a possibility. Stupid Question Alert: Would being on a team but not being on the DC cause a dot to miss games?

I have seen ROLBs not get any plays during a game. Same with punters, and some designated specialty players.

You were around back when XP was tied to number of plays, right? That's why game XP is awarded at the time a game is played.

Game sims, XP awarded based on play count.

They then shifted from number of plays to being on the depth chart to being the criteria for awarding XP.

Game sims, XP awarded if on the depth chart.

Now you get game XP if you're on a team when a game sims. Game sims, XP awarded if on the team.

Honestly, I think you and Theo's suggestions are similar but not exactly the same. I agree with you, the way a dot is made unavailable on the depth chart isn't the greatest. Theo's suggestion of awarding XP despite a dot not being on a team when a game sims (despite being on two teams during the "week" when a game sims not only makes sense but is also somewhat realistic).

Do you mean game XP? As I understand it, as long as you're on the roster when the game sims you should get XP.
