To be honest, I do not see myself even being in the situation again, so simply attacking me is a waste of time. If GLB is filled with the types of people that this would be exploited to the effect you state, then you can see why I have no interest in making new friends here. My sole purpose was to make more games enjoyable, Would I pay to do so, no. Would I take the opportunity if free, some times. Would I do as you think others would, never. I simply used my case as an example, because it is what gave me the idea.

As far as I know, an OC, DC, ST coach already do all those things for teams that they did not pay for, so from my point of view, nothing changed if it goes CPU. I am a co-owner on teams right now simply because that was easiest GM since I do multiple things, and you cannot be ST and scout and CFO on one team.

I kind of feel like Robb at the red wedding. Came in with what I thought were good intentions, and soon realized that I did not take into account how evil people really are.

first off I am not attacking you I am trying to show you that there are 2 sides to the idea. a side that has good intentions and a side that opens itself up to people being able to game the system. I do not get how you and so many other people on this sight get the idea you are being attacked. simply because some one debates a idea with you. whether you would game the system or not isn't even part of the debate here. my arguement is simply that by adding your suggestion you open the game up to people that would in fact game the system. so friend stop taking stuff so personally and understand that just because someone is on another side of the debate than you. it doesn;t mean that they are attacking you or that they are even against your idea. they are just trying to bring all sides of the idea to light so everyone can make a educated decision.

When you aim answers at the person instead of the point, then people take it personally, and it is no longer discussing the idea. The use of "you" vs "they" or "people" or "it". Count the number of times you use "you" or "your". People will use their personal experience as an example to support an idea, but then people go after the example, instead of the idea.

If you have to ask...it's WAY too exploitable.

no you are just taking a online game to freaking serious obviously. it is people like you that get butthurt everytime someone doesn't agree with you. or they show you a error in your thinking. your idea leaves alot of ways to be exploited. and the reason that I use you or your is because this is YOUR suggestion. so stop with the childish dramafest and learn to discuss things without the "people are attacking me" mantra

Sounds like you are the one that is butthurt. I love a good debate, but a debate leaves out the people and sticks to the subject. You do not have a clue how to debate because you are not smart enough to remove the people from the debate and stick to the TOPIC.

I had a fun time doing something that I thought might be beneficial to the community, so I brought it up here. I figured that someone would post that it would get exploited, then there would be a debate on whether the few (or many?) that exploit it would outweigh the competitiveness it would add to leagues. Instead I just got "You want a free team". I already have a small network that allows me to do whatever I want, so why would I need a free team? So once you successfully derailed the expected debate, I made the Robb joke, thus ending any hope that it would be good for this community, but you did not even have the intelligence to see that as a joke, even with the little smilie at the end. I thought that it was common knowledge that any words ending in a smilie were meant to be good natured. Thus fuck off, is me telling someone to fuck off. Whereas fuck off is suppose to garner a laugh.

I am not butthurt in the least, because your 3rd grade mentality made me laugh. Good gawd, if you want people to take you seriously, at least learn to express yourself better than a 3rd grader. All we know about each online is what people type, and you type things then assume that we know what you really mean. I fully admit, I cannot read minds over the interweb. So now bring on your next childish rant, I need a good laugh before bed.

I think we missed the best post by Novus. SciFi's idea isn't bad... as long as it's not exploitable. While SciFi himself desires not to exploit, others might not be so kind to the game. It's a case of good idea... but not workable under the current suggestion. Perhaps a step back and re-think of how to make this work WITHOUT being exploitable is the best way to end this suggestion.

And that was the type of answer I was expecting, thank you kind sir.

Is there a way around it being exploited? Maybe the team needs a minimum number of CPU players? Team had to be owned for a certain number of days? Limited to only using presets? Only applicable after game 8?

I do not think that there is a way that it wouldn't be exploitable since the return of flex for selling a team is Pro-Rated. by using your suggestion people could buy a couple of teams in a crappy league then sell one or 2 back and a friend still run the team and possibly throw games or whatever the case may be. the suggestion has merit and while most people wouldn't try to exploit it. there surely are a bunch that would.
