same principle as NFL: people say they love watching defense, and then the viewing figures plummet when there is a 6-3 game ...

I love QBs getting planted and interceptions. I love RBs getting stuffed at line. That shit is just as fun as seeing a RB break a tackle on the edge and tear off down field for 30yds, or the QB scrambling around and zipping a crazy pass in for a TD.
Key is balance. Unfortunately, when you've got 6-10 players on just the offensive side of the ball who expect stats and plays worth watching, because after all they're shelling out 900flex/season each, then that's where things get funky. GLB was a great idea, but it lost its way even though bort n co TRIED the best they could. Too many people wanted things, they weren't ready, and you see how that ended up...

It's not Bort's fault, dude. Baseball brain trust turned a blind eye to steroids... why? Because homers are what the fans like. Listen to real football games and everyone whines when it's a huge defensive struggle... saying negative stuff about offensive ineptitude rather than praising the high quality of defense. I've stopped playing lots of EA sports games and other electronic games simply because it gets boring to score 255 in football, 50-0 in baseball, and shoot 48 under in Tiger Woods. I'm not that damn GOOD! The games are simply designed to the masses love for high scores, offense, and ease of playing.
I suspect the main reason defense even gets ANY love here is to keep games from ending 255-255. Few here are the lovers of great defenses. While you can find threads about fixing the defense, most threads are about offensive plays. And most "look at what my player does" threads are about offensive plays/players. There's a 75+ yard TD thread... there isn't a "game ending interception" thread. We love action and scoring and that kinda stuff as humans. We're not nearly interested in a 3-0 football game as we are 55-48. Bort is simply being human and listening to humans tell him how to be better at it by making sure the offense always outshines the defense.
Very true... pretty funny how I won 3 green jackets in PGA tour in like 2 weeks ahah

-80yrds
19 sacks
9/22 pass attempts/completions
evenly matched teams, winning team had only 200yrds(4 FG's,1 TD and a SAFETY)
yea, offense is over powered

It depends on the levels....Ive noticed that higher level dots have way higher scoring then the lower levels.....

That is one thing that really annoys me when I run defense. So stupid I can't move LBs around where I need/want to.

There is still a difference between good defense and ineptitude on offense. Games where the QB consistently miss throw their receivers or the receivers have a bad case of the dropsies (watched some Redskins games like that last year) are terrbile to watch. Runningbacks that run right into their offensive lineman (although that could be considered a good play by the defense). Fumbled snaps and handoffs fall into this category as well.
