If you're bad at recruiting, yes. Recruiting is hard.

Casual Team recruiting is the hardest thing to do here on the site. Because there are so many people who think we are
Wussies for owning one. Truth is.... Casual is the best place to start being an owner. It's far easier to set tactics and
just about everything else. We WELCOME any new Owner to Casual

Networking is a huge thing with any team but More of a huge thing in Casual. With my own teams I start at least two
Seasons in advance letting my Core Agents know I'm going to field a new roster. With this advance they know I'll
take commitments in the Season just before we restart. But then I've been in the Casual Community since Season
9 and know just about who to talk to about new dots. It comes with being there a bit of time OP Don't let this get
you down at all. We all started somewhere

upsair is right........ set to Auto Fill on your roster. That'll help you out lots.

I'll send you an invitation to The Casual Forum. Feel free to ask questions in there. Do some reading... the forum has
a Wealth of info for any Casual Owner

They obviously saw the Heisenberg Blues as your first opponent and decided it would be safer to avoid signing with your team.

Best place to start being an owner is to be an active participant as a GM on a team. Could be finances, recruiting, scouting, O/D co-ordinating or whatever. Learn from experienced people what is involved in owning a team.

Yes i realize this doesn't deal specifically with the OP's question but just a follow up to what dub said.

Not many players (dots) want to sign up for a team in a casual league. Coordinators can't put in their on AI's.

Most of the teams, if not all of them I DC for, are made up of a group of friends that met on here years ago and have created a system. This game is made up of many small groups of people that have stuck together over the seasons and they each make players for each of their teams.

So your first step should not be owning a team. It should be making a few players and getting lucky enough to accept an offer from a good team with a core group of guys. Few seasons ago, I was in your position. You need to be active on the forums and then prove you can make dots. Once you prove you can make dots and can be active, you may be able to find a few people that have dots on the teams that would make new dots for your team. The you'll find that season after season, your team, and any team you have dots for, will be made up of the same core guys. I am DC for about 16 teams and in those 16 teams, probably 12-14 of them are associated in some way.

i had a bit of a problem in with a few positions, but I filled a rookie casual team pretty easily.
I did so without pre-planning during the previous season, nor did I recruit any agents prior to buying the team.
You can copy and paste a basic bit about your plan and team, but also explain what their particular role will be on the team.
casual, though, as an owner, leaves a lot to be desired, in terms of being able to gameplan.

Rookie is easy. Roster should already be ready before the playoffs ended the previous season.

From about prep to semi-pro is where recruiting can be tricky. You essentially have to fill any spots during the rest of your stay in minors with dots from teams that folded (and most of the teams that fold have terrible dots). Once you get it uncapped it's not quite as bad since you have multiple seasons worth of players eligible to sign with your team.
