You live and die by the breakthroughs.

Meh, I don't mind a little randomness thrown into the build process. Building from pure math to an exactly pre-determined point is kinda boring. I like that the EQ store and break-throughs can either challenge you with a minor setback or reward you with a minor advantage. I don't like ending up on the wrong end of them, but it's pretty sweet when you gain an extra train from a breakthrough or land a sweet AEQ in the first couple rolls.

That happens?!
I always end up spending 15 BTs before anything good shows up. Half of the shit (oops, I mean 'stuff') that shows up isn't even anything congruent to what the players position or archetype is.

As for the training break-throughs, I kinda lean more toward to OP. They seem to always 'break through' at the wrong damn time. But I still don't think they are b.s. Aside from the sim, it's the most random part of the game. Well, that and QB progressions.

To be honest I wouldn't even mind if I didn't get the breakthroughs and everybody else still did.

What was that key sequence exploit to press while training to get continuous breakthroughs to trigger?

Tbh it's the lack of randomness anymore that is helping kill the game. First 10 seasons or so, shoot i'll even say 15, people were still learning how to build. You rolled for dots and hope you got lucky. Then the reroller script came followed by the breakthrough script and you're taking the luck out of the game which was half the fun imo. Nothing like rolling 8's in kicking punting and throwing and being all excited because you had a 22 in speed. Along with not caring it was on a 6'3 dot. Everything is so precise now. There are so many ways to build a good dot, but just as many if not more bad ways as well.

Maybe just once people could stop complaining about the things that make the game fun. That's what made wrestling cool for me when I was 7, not realizing how fake it was. Once you figure everything out about the game, why play it anymore?

If you don't pay attention to the forums, or anyone on your team who knows what they're talking about, it's actually possible to be completely in the dark on training...even 31 seasons in.

Also...don't take away breakthroughs, just take away the randomness of them. Make them every 5th train, or something(this could obviously be changed, depending on your training level - intense, multi, etc)

you forgot up, down, up, down. And select start would be if you had multis just start would work. If you have multis then you would need select.

Eh, it's possible to be completely in the dark on anything if you pay zero attention.

For example, all of this is from the Training page itself, complete with bold and italicized text...

Spend Training Points

Spend this player's training points on training programs by choosing the options you would like below. Training an attribute will cost 2 training points and gain bonus tokens.

You will gain 2 training points per day automatically during the season. Percentage gains given below are approximate and will vary a little every time you train. There is even a small chance of reaching a training breakthrough and gaining a large extra percentage.

Yes, but you don't see them.

In fact, one benefit of autotraining is never having to complain about getting breakthroughs. Instead you go "wow, this guy hit caps faster than the other guys I built at the same time. Awesome."

If they annoy you that much, just stop training 1 train beforehand, add pts and then continue training. Wallah! breakthrough problem solved with extremely minimal effect on the build.

Personally, I like the breakthroughs and do not want to see them removed at all.
