I think I like the 100/50/25 the best.

I put everything at 50 baseline

then raise or lower based on what I want to do for a specific game - raise to 100 packages I like, leave at 50 if OK, drop low or to zero if I don't like it

Why do you care what other people do so much? GLB isn't be very enjoyable if you never do stuff your own way.

GLB won't be very enjoyable if I still made 60 speed 60 catching WRs.

If you leave them all at 100 you will find that auto adjust has a harder time affecting the ratios because auto-adjust is a flat bonus.

So wrong.

That would be incorrect. It is adjusted at the beginning of the game to equal 100 and adjustments are made based off of those values.

October 1, 2011 Question could we clarify how percentage Bias works in the offensive package section? when creating a new offensive package, you can set a percentage Bias. i thought i remember many seasons ago that we were told: 1. the numbers need to add up to at least 100 (to avoid bugs) 2. the numbers can add up to over 100 3. the numbers are not hard percentages can anyone help clarify (confirm/deny) this? i have been trying to work some packages with many, many plays and instead of trying to figure out %s, i believe i can leave it at the default 100 and let the sim randomly choose a play (equally). or have you found that it consistently calls certain plays (like the top one)?

Answer The numbers will be adjusted in-memory to add up to 100 in whatever ratios you entered them in at when the sim starts up. For example, if you have 4 plays set to 100, they will be adjusted to all be 25 when the sim runs so the code can handle things as if they were 100%. If you had 4 plays set to 50, they would also be adjusted to 25, since they are all equal. If you had two plays with one of them set to 100 and the other set to 50, they would be adjusted to 66.6% and 33.3% since that is the ratio based on the whole (150).

Fu,

So If I have 5 plays at 100, it is EXACTLY the same as 5 at 20% or 5 at 10%. I am not sure how else to read what you are trying to say other than that you don't know how it works.

Ezra, you're correct... that's what Bort and Catch say.

However... as I said back on Page 1...

Bort and Catch claim that you can just leave every package at 100% each and the sim will automatically adjust everything so that they all add up to 100%. But in my experience, that causes funky things to happen if you do this while also using Auto-Adjust. They claim it shouldn't make a difference either way, but it wouldn't be the first time they think their sim works one way when it actually works some other way simply because they overlooked something in their own code.

So, my advice is to evenly split everything, and make sure all the percentages add up to 100%. Takes, what, 20 seconds to do if you have a calculator? And that way you know the sim will do what you want it to do.

this is exactly right

If you don't have the math skills to make your packages equal 100%, either your packages are too complex or you failed 2nd grade.

==

the other issue here is: the whole concept of the auto adjust is to allow the Ai to adjust itself, during the game, when some plays aren't working for you. If everything works, then who cares about auto adjust--you'll win anyway.

If you're trying to outsmart that by assigning very different values to the plays, you might as well tun off auto adjust, and hope your plan works every game.

If you have 5 plays, and you set 1 to 80% and the others to 5%, it's almost impossible for the auto adjust to overcome that kind of bias. Even if auto adjust took out 5% for every failure, you'd have to fail 12 times just to get back to an even split. If you've shot 12 possessions in the foot, good luck with that game.

If you had all of them set to 20%, then it's very easy to get out of the plays that aren't working and into the plays that are working.
