Simple suggestion and strait forward. Changing blocking focus is a challenge for newer players to begin with because for certain positions u have to use the quick tactics editor. In addition an OT or G playing on pass focus is realistically not going to have a penalty to run blocking when he's playing ST, for obvious reasons. Lastly its a pain in the ass for guys with lots of dots. So I suggest we make no bonus or penalty to any dots when playing ST. So the blocking focus option should ONLY apply to offense plays (or def Turnovers).

Your suggestion removes some of the advantage to STOPS, to guys who plan to be better on special teams with extra blockers. It's another phase of the game, play it the best you can.

The advantage to STOP's is their speed + blocking combination + willy nilly use of VA's and SA's. To say run block focus is an advantage making them worthwhile is pretty silly.

then you are not taking full advantage of the STOPS, IMO.

I think everyone is taking full advantage of STOP's in that way. That doesn't necessarily mean it makes any such sense or really should even apply as an "advantage".

It's laughable that anyone here would even think a LT playing pass focus should be given a penalty vs a RT playing on run focus when both should be evenly matched in that aspect when on ST's. Seeing how STOPS don't play outside of ST's this really has no effect on them whatsoever to begin with, just teams who prefer to pass on offense shouldn't be penalized in the ST area.

It isn't so much the pass focus vs. run focus more than it is about the whole Quick Tactics only change of focus. I am not sure at what point Run Focus became a must use tactic but some guys weren't even able to set this tactic until they offered the Quick Tactic page.

Your statement then says it would also be pretty silly to take away the focus, so ......... -1

I think that blocking focus in general is a dumb idea being that the blocker knows whether any given play is run or pass. Builds should determine how well you do at each.

Why punish the ones that take the time to set to run focus?
Because some have not learned how to yet?
Because some are to lazy to?
It's not like those that don't set to run focus get a penalty, they just don't get the bonus for learning how to set it and actually getting it set
If its a pass blocking dot that is set to pass block, then that dot should either not be on the ST unit or just suffer the consequences of being set to pass block.

Next we will ask for all players to be exact equals because some people don't know how to build good dots yet (people like me) or have to many dots so don't have the time to build dots efficiently (again, people like me)

It's not about that, Bane... consider the following. Once the game starts, you can't change your settings. And you can't have 2 settings (one for ST's one for your normal position)... so what happens to the dot who is a pass blocking OT who backs up the starter and also plays ST's? He needs to have his blocking focus set to "Pass" when he's on the O-line... but this isn't good for playing ST's. Having ST's blocking focus be something that is automatically set to "Run" makes sense just for that very reason alone. Dot owners will STILL have to set their focus according to their archetype and the demands of the OC or DC so peeps not vigilant will still have issues as you speak of... but just saying "take your chances with the dots" isn't the answer either. The Op is simply making a common sense suggestion here... not a "yawl is lazy and need help" suggestion.

All NFL teams use their special team players elsewhere.

Oh, did I mention we are a passing team also.
