The method suggested in the OP lends itself to exploitation as mentioned by InRomoWeTrust. I could see weighting the MVP lottery in a different manner.

Currently, the top 5 dots in an MVP race all have an equal chance of getting MVP EQ (20%).

Instead of this, the higher finishers could be given a higher % chance in the lottery.

1st = 30%
2nd = 25%
3rd = 20%
4th = 15%
5th = 10%

The higher finishers receive an advantage over the lower finishers, but these numbers couldn't be skewed by a single dot that is stat whoring on a team and blows away the rest of the league in the MVP race.

Given the example, using non-blowout adjusted stats shouldn't make it too much of an issue. Especially if we adjust the MVP EQ based upon the league. For example, if you win MVP gear in PL, it is better than Regional Pro Elite, which is better than regional pro competitive, which is better than regular joe Regional Pro. So, if someone tries to jack up their stats in regular regional pro versus CPUs, they get crappy EQ anyway.

That could work. It just seems that the developers are lost on the fact that this is a game and the primary goal should be to make it fun. Adding stuff like that or more trophies or other competitions would do a lot to bring more fun to a game that has become somewhat stale for many of its best users.

maybe +1 for offense but -1 for defense until they fix the formula, which is something like: sacks=10 pts, INTs = 0.05

It's already weighted like that.

Also, do the clowns who are -1ing realize that the stats for MVP scores are already blowout-adjusted? Good lord. I wish you couldn't even comment on my suggestions because it annoys me when people of vastly inferior intelligence and knowledge pollute the thread with dumb comments. Just implement whatever I suggest whenever I suggest it.

jd's in a bad mood or something calling people stupid...

does the the exception proves the rule? how many of the 350 or so DMVPs in GLB are DEs? I'm not about to go count but I'd bet its over 200 if not 250. 2 guys out of 11 take home at least half (and probably a lot more) of the hardware.

yes, I know my example was hyperbole, but the end result is overwhelmingly that DEs have a much better shot at MVPs than anyone else. the randomizer helps offset that advantage IMO, so again, -1 for the D and +1 for the O

Eh, seeing that this particular issue falls 100% outside the realm of anything related to being a Bugs Mod I really could care less if you consider this evidence that I know nothing about the game.

I really could care less either way about how its done.

Yes. But the top 5 lottery means that they aren't guaranteed the EQ. If you weighted the lottery based on performance it could make it easier for someone to exploit their way to the EQ.
