Was way funner before when you could flog some steaming pile of a build and turn the cash into a quality player. I remember my first season trading 8 or 10 poor or average builds for cash that I used to pick up 4 good players that made a difference and stayed with the team till retirement.

The funny thing about the older days is trading was not only a way to trick shitty agents into getting money for your stadium and also building a stadium faster through multi's and whatever...but...it was also a GREAT way to go from completely shitty team to competing team very quickly....

While the teams like TSE's would be trading CPU or regular players for cash all over the place to make a stadium...these are actually the kinda trades that made mid level teams much more promising than they would have been because this was the only way to acquire the high level agents...i know it is a shitty way of doing things but agents actually began to love being on my team after a season..i know all the best pro teams wanted half the players on my team.

All about the money. I remember logging on seeing trade requests before I even knew I had a team from the wait list.

There aren't really any players to trade. Many teams are organized from the ground up and others hold on to any FA they can sign with a deathgrip.

1) Identify a need on your team;
2) Identify where you have a surplus of talent OR a good dotbuilder who is poison in the forum;
3) Identify a team who could improve at that position or has a team need;
4) Identify a player on that team that meets your needs (without getting to see builds most of the time).

Then break the news to your player that he's going to need to start looking for a place for he and his family to live in the new city. Tell him that he's a great player, but that he's just not what the team needs right now.

Then deal with the fallout if that player has multiple dots on your team or if you are on the same team as that player on a team that he has control over.

The whole thing is a drama-fest that no one has time for.
