Your "slows down" argument is kinda pointless. Dots slow down when going through 'traffic'. Without the bonus from Surge he'd be even slower.

you make an interesting argument and nobody has really countered you. Probably too late for my PHB though.

My slows down argument is almost the whole point. Shall I read the description of Surge to you? I shall:

This player hits the hole with rushing gusto. The Surge skill gives this player a burst of acceleration when he hits the line of scrimmage on inside runs. This skill is important for players who rush up the middle a lot. It does not help with rushing outside. Additional level: Increases the Acceleration boost.

So...2/8 rushing plays I posted saw an acceleration burst. And no, I didn't discriminate which plays I posted, just the first 8 that I found in his 2 most recent games.

If Surge is providing a tangible acceleration boost 25% of the time it actually fires, whats the point of the SA?

verified and on the one I did , screen passes worked much better without adding catching

Meh...I think it needs to fire before he hits the hole. As it stands, it only really fires when he hits the line of scrimmage, which is what is putting him in bad situations. I think the SA needs tweaking. Its not broken, but it needs to be re-evaluated imho. As it stands, I dont quite see the benefit from having Surge.

surge is good....and if you get first step the only problem you have is itll use more stamina

Agreed. Perhaps firing when within 2 yards of LOS instead? But then you restrict it to being mostly a goal-line or short yardage use cuz once you're past the LOS, it wouldn't fire anymore.

No. Why would you think it would? It would have an opportunity to go off, just like it normally would and it does right now. All im suggesting is change when it actually fires, like a yard or two from the hole. At least the HB can point him self in the direction he wants to go, and literally surge through the hole at top speed, then make cuts as needed. Right now, its firing when he is in the hole and it usually goes to waste...not much use imo.
