I meant there is no difference between 130 kicking and 170. 125 and soccer star is all that is necessary. It's pure RNG after that and the only thing more kicking does is help kickoff average

Curious.....what makes you think there is no difference between 130 kicking and 170 kicking? What do you base that opinion on?

His lolkickerpunter, the dot I based this thread off of...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2256535

In the last 6-7 seasons he has preformed just as well as any other kicker I've seen....

Sorry Pacific Pro for exploiting you with a terribad punt average. We just want that K/P MVP trophy so bad, because it's so good and it gives you a nice opportunity to win that highly sought after K/P gear, which makes every owner so happy.

Maybe "exploit" is too strong a word then. But I highly doubt this is working as intended either.

It could be used as an exploit, though... if your team's kicker is near the top of the MVP rankings and just needs an extra boost to push him over the edge, just plug him in as the Punter for a couple of easily-winnable games, and presto! MVP.

I highly doubt that's what Bort and Catch intended.

The fact that my kicker with low 120s kicking the past few seasons has been just as good as any other kicker in terms of FGs (though 130 to be safe would be best). Also, FG accuracy/distance hasn't really improved the past 15-20 seasons despite kicking attributes at 170 now. The coding is just about hitting above a make/miss threshold that attributes play before the RNG roll that is the same for every dot. Obviously you need the proper SAs/VAs/supporting attributes for it but it seems 130 is about all you need for it to be all RNG.

The higher kicking attribute might play a role in terms of FG% at 60+ yd FGs but i have yet to see a kicker who consistently knocks those down or at least you don't see those too often. Might need a few builds and teams willing to set the FG range to 67 or something. I wonder if there is something to cracking the consistent 60+ barrier or if bort just sets the non-build influenced RNG part too high (i'm guessing this is what he did)

I liked that kicker of your the other day, Blad. It's totally a VA / SA thing. Look at level 38 punters slamming 50 yards punts.

I never read this forum and stumbled across it. If you want to fight me, send a pm.

And up the chances of a P/K endorsement, cause that's what every team is looking for. >_>

Eh, if you could guarantee an endorsement piece for your Kicker for all of next season just by having him punt in a couple of blowout games this season, wouldn't you do it? That endorsement piece could end up helping you get a couple of extra FGs next season that you might not have gotten otherwise, and just 1 FG can easily turn a game.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'll suggest that for any team I'm ever on where that team's Kicker is near the top of the MVP standings. Trot the kicker out there as the punter too for a couple of blowout games, and watch the lulz commence when he gets the MVP endorsement at the end of the season.

We'll see if y'all still don't think that's an exploit then.

you realize if this actually catches on and becomes the standard they'll nerf it right?
like you actually think they'd just sit back and let there be 0 punters in world league?

I'm not saying "Don't sign a Punter."

I'm saying "In blowout games only, bench your Punter and let your Kicker handle punts."

Apparently, that's all it would take to put a Kicker over the top in the MVP standings.

Why the facepalms? It's working for this guy right now...

He's a good kicker, but nothin' special. But his additional punting stats have him at the top of the MVP list ahead of better kickers.

I think the facepalms are because nobody wants a punter or kicker hogging an endorsement spot on their team

I have built a lot of Kickers and Punters -- including MVPs in both.

I would be more concerned by the affect that the additional plays would have on his stamina -- making him more tired for the late game FG or not getting as long of kickoffs/punts.

Kickers do not miss often enough (2 or 3 times a season - if that) to make it worth trying to exploit the endorsement system.

I feel that you would be better off spending the SP in your Kicker's strength and your punter's vision (a big part of hitting coffin corner punts.)

And I have experimented with a punter trying FGs -- it takes a lot of SP in Kicking (just as it does for Kickers) to make it worth the risk to try anything other the XPs.
