I know. That's why I try not to do that. It's just that it's so easy for a new player in this game to royally screw up a dot, so that's the one case where I'd want someone to follow my instructions very closely. Other than that, my attitude is "Here's a build plan. If you want to follow it, great! If not, hey, it's your dot. Just try not to fuck it up too badly."

Seems to be working for us this time around.

Only time I get pissy is when I start a rookie team and someone is supposed to build a cov. SS with speed/agility and they build a SS built like a DT or what was supposed to be a biltzer at LB like a run stopper MLB. lol

OP thinks this is a good thing, though.

It's basically a draft. Granted, it's not your typical draft, in that the team owners don't get to pick dots, but it's still a draft.

Actually, I'd prefer a typical draft over the OP's suggestion. At least that way, a team owner would still be able to have the type of team they wanted, even if they couldn't get all the players they want. But it would still suck for the players, because they'd still have no say at all over which team they play for. But that's true under the OP's suggestion anyway.

One other thing the OP isn't considering as well: unusual or experimental teams. My team is an all-rushing team, with two rushing QBs, STOP-Archetype WRs (since I think they make better blockers), an experimental 2-kicker system, and a higher number of STOP dots than most teams carry. My team wouldn't even be possible under the OP's system, because the system would randomly select for me a team that would likely include a passing QB, several receiving WRs who aren't built to block at all, only 1 kicker, and a much smaller number of STOP dots. I'd be forced into running a more conventional team, with no option for experimenting or trying weird stuff for fun to see if I can make it work.

Without that sort of freedom, I have zero interest in running a team. At all.

Well unlike you Novus, I have a life away from GLB. Then if you ACTUALLY READ, I did say that this probably would never happen. Then once again, you share your opinion, yet you don't have a single new player. So why does this matter to you so much? For a single season when you create a new player, you'd get put on a team to be competitive. ONE SEASON.. NOT A PLAYERS CAREER.

And yes, I do play to win, but not to the extent you do. I am superior to you because unlike you, I like life away from GLB and play this for the fun of making football players. You actually play to win an internet trophy. So do yourself a favor and just stop replying. you're digging a deeper hole.

What I can't stand the most is when player owners lie about things and then they use your team as a platform to slow build.

'Coz yeah, you totally understand everything about my life thanks to a few paragraphs on a message board. Shall I share a few choice observations about your life as well? They'll probably be about as accurate as yours -- which is, not accurate at all.

At the end of the deadline, right before the season started, GLB would take all the new players and randomly place them on a team filling each team with a certain amount of players at each position.

GLB will never dictate what team an agent has to put his/her dot upon creation or any point thereafter. That's the real key here. Which pretty much make your suggestion null and void. You want to talk about things killing GLB, this would be the quickest way to do it.

It's like college basketball, forcing players to attend one year of college before going pros. It's a mess and does more to hurt the sport than does to help it.

OK, so next season I'm starting up a new team. I have all but 4 positions filled at this point. The team is a mix of guys from a network I'm a member of and dot builders on my current team.

How would your suggestion affect me and my plans?

You have a full team guys that you already know. Basically the same as someone creating a team of their own players. Your going to be at the top of your league because you won't be signing anyone in the off season because your team is full. All your players will be boosted and have specific builds. You have now taken the unpredictability out of the game and have now forced anyone who wants a successful team to either become socially active on this site to the point of creating a network of people, or finding another person who feels the same, and having 2-3 guys create 15-20 players each.
And when I said things like force players to build certain ways, it doesn't truly mean FORCE them. It meant that team owners would have to strategically game plan to their specific players on their team.

But you guys can forget it, no need to comment any further. You're both hard headed one track thinkers that can only see the perspective from the owners that are in this so called "inner circle" the game possesses. Which in my opinion, will eventually be the demise of this game. When someone like me posts a suggestion to at least make the teams fair in the rookie levels, and it get smashed down right away by 2 people who I'm assuming have been playing for years and have created quite a following. Just like the government, the little man has no say because the "big guns" know all and don't want anything to change because they've learned how to play the "game". So i then ask you, are you not confident enough in your owner ship abilities to create a winning team of random owners?

D Leagues? They allow dot builders a chance to have a season of "random" play with a "level" playing field.

If you're looking to build a team, I suggest you have dots lined up before Day 40. Don't wait.

This suggestion would do nothing more than make the rookie season even less fun than it is now.

Yeah, was going to give you chance to better explain your point... but you're spiraling into attacks because nobody agrees with you. Honestly, having to work and be organized on how you run your team makes it more like football than some random placing of dots. At best it would be like winning the lottery for an owner and at worst good dots would be wasted on poor owner.

So, locking. Feel free to pm me or support if you disagree with this.
