Well if his job was to make it to progression 3 that is lame.

well he should be able to do it,

shouldn't take long to see a guy is doubled up with safety help. should be hike, bam 2nd one and bam if someone opens up.


only way he goes bam another read is if a fake fired somewhere then he auto swaps and makes a pass

Precisely. That was what made the old system so good, you could really control / force certain looks or matchups and time your throws and targets much better than you can now, where you have almost no control.

hmm...id argue you have far more control now. Before getting the ball to your first progression was damn near impossible without torching your entire progression list. Plays ultimately lasted too long. I shouldn't as an OC be using my progressions to hit progression number 3 or 4. That is bad OC'ing.

Except that you couldn't do that at all. Even if you had WR1 - WR1, he still wouldn't throw to the WR1. It had to be WR1 - WR1 - WR1 or possibly more. It's weird that you say that you could time your throws better then since the opposite is true. The QB held the ball for so long that it was ridiculous, resulting in constant deep throws because everyone had trailed downfield if the QB wasn't already sacked.

our last game on 40 pass attempts our QB reached the 2nd read 5 times! never reached the 3rd progression all game

true.... was a mess. some parts are a mess now. it seemed to work just fine in the early and mid 20s.

only way to solve this is turn it into QB setting

Interesting concept but it honestly scares the shit out of me.

The lower levels the QB goes thru his progressions just fine. So what is it about older dots that would change that?
