I usually only go 10% in the free slot for the first attribute I put there, as in the start of multi training. Reason being I will keep it there plenty long enough to warrant the 6 BT cost. And because the skill is so low, the 10% does make a noticeable difference in the training gains. Later in build I often don't bother enhancing anything that goes into the free slot.
