More and more Chrome Extensions and Firefox Addons come with built-in ads that pop up randomly. If it's not malware, it's probably an extension or addon to your browser. I had to stop using a chrome extension recently because of this.

I installed a greasemonkey addon and for some reason words started becoming those annoying links. Got rid of the addon and they disappeared.

I don't use the Internet.

yeah that is the worst and primarily why I stick to chrome now. Had those way too much using FF, only had to remove it once with chrome

Same. Chrome has a much stricter approval process. I think this is why.

Chrome/Opera, your choice. With the right add-ons I've never had an issue with anything in FF.

I used Opera for years, but I finally gave it up. Compatibility issues with certain websites made me finally make the switch to Chrome.
