While I don't agree with the OP, (work is the love of those who labor for their results and should not be taken away), as a former scout myself, it would be nice if SOME of the info was readily available. Things like run/pass ratios by quarters and such.

I hate to tell Yellow this but taking away scouting just to save time actually will make your job much harder... and that is the job of learning the game. I'm not saying you don't know, or understand, football... but scouting is what fills in all the blanks about the whys and wherefores of game planning, roster management, strategies, tendencies, placement of players in formations, progressions, stamina control (depth charts), ST setups, dot performance... I could keep going but I hope you get the point. I build dots 10 times better now because I scouted for several seasons. I scouted so I could learn. And to take that away would be wrong for those that wish to enjoy the game in that way.

I hate to tell you but there is more than one way to do things. Your perception is not the only valid opinion on a subject. Others may find the information more useful and learn from it better if it is more readily accessible.

And just because the links are there, it does not mean you would HAVE to use them. Indeed using them would not really substitute for scouting since those two bits of data is not a big deal.

But if you wanted to quickly see where when or by whom your hurries or forced fumbles were being made (or being inflicted upon you) it would be nice to be able to grab that information in moments rather than hours. And while the minute details of the plays and dots would clearly be a factor to consider, you can also learn from compiled data over hundreds of plays and dozens of games things that the details may not reveal or even obscure.

And frankly this would add incrementally to the scouting pages smoothing of the scouting path already. If Scouting did not ruin the game, adding two more bits of utility to Scouting will not either.

And in any case, this was not about scouting other teams anyway, for me, but merely a swifter way to sort out the results of my own play calling and my own team's dots. One can already do this going from game summary to game summary, but this would be a much more efficient way to go about it.

And efficiency is, after all, what computers were built to provide, n'est-ce pas?

Thanks for the advice though. I just do not think it outweighs the benefits of making the game more user friendly.

what you say is right to a extent and maybe I read what Yello1 was wanting wrong. but to me scouting isn't that hard in reality. and given the way the game is now basically most people are capable of making good dots. so the only real difference in the game now is the scouting and coordinating. so to me that aspect of the game should favor the people that put the time and effort into the job. based on my knowledge of Yello1 he is basically wanting something that he can click a button and then he gets a report telling him what plays to use or what type of defense to use. he wants something for nothing basically and that wouldn't be the least bit fair to the agents that have taken the time to learn how to scout and gameplan.

Why don't you do yourself a favor and go play a game that doesn't involve a machine doing thousands of operations a second for you.

Its lazy.

You should be doing them all yourself.

Hand writing your posts.

Mailing them to us, personally.

And no driving to the post office. If you are not walking, you are not a real man.

So people bitch that there aren't enough quality coordinators but don't want a more user friendly scouting script? Good luck to all those teams looking for help, do the work yourself

I want it... IF it doesn't make the current Scouting page load slowly.

Giving me more info but making me wait a ridiculous amount of time for it really doesn't help me.

My point was nothing to do with me.

Its to do with the notion that players who own a team should not be offered as efficient and helpful an interface as possible.

You are basically saying "Okay have a scouting page but lets not make it too useful".

Limiting your customer base to the unemployed, college students, and lonely Obsessives is not the pathway to wealth.

Yello1 you really need to stop lettings things like someone not agreeing with you. To get your panties in a bunch. Seriously I can see where you are coming from to a extent. But you are a person that continually wants the game to make everything so easy that you do not have to do any work to have success. Had someone else made this suggestion then maybe I could see it as something other than you just wanting GLB to give you some easy way to win without having to put in the work that successful team owners do. And in all reality that wouldn't be fair to all the people that work to get better. And to field successful teams instead of what you do and field 9 mediocre teams.
