Hence why you set up a Private Forum, best way to keep everybody together and show that you're still fully committed to getting a team

Hello there, my question is simple. I wanna purchase a Rookie team for S33.

I saw there are some teams available this season in some leagues. If I purchase one of them (mostly full of CPUs), will I be able to go in Rookie league next season ?

Or should I wait the offseason to purchase my team. Thanks

Kboum

Only advantage to purchasing a team now is that you can get used to clicking on owner-stuff -- but because this will be a rookie team, I'd save my flex and purchase during the off-season.

Peace,

Fish

You do get the team at a pro rated cost and like you said it would give a new owner time to learn things about owning the team and finances and stadium stuff.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I will wait until end of the season because all our roster is ready I don't need to recruit. Thanks again

Just steer clear. I have owned many teams here since season 2. Ownership has gotten awful, Support here is the pitts.
Sad but true. It was fun years ago.

While I will agree that ownership is quite rough, especially for agents who aren't well networked and recognized in the game, I don't agree on support being "the pitts". GLB's support is actually pretty darn good. They have their hiccups, but everyone does. GLB is much better than some larger games where you get a copy pasta response 5 days later.

I don't think any of that construes a fair statement. While you have been here a long time, it appears (by your profile page) that you currently own a Casual team, your only trophy as an owner was as a Casual team owner, and you haven't won any other trophies since season 21. I'm not saying any of that to slam you personally, it's just that you may be in need a running a real team instead of a Casual one, and get some better dot-builders and coordinators around you to have more success. You also seem to have only 3 players total (in over 4 years of playing) when you combine your retired with your active guys. Ownership is so much more fun when you have more invested into it, whether it's through gameplanning, watching film, or watching your own dots perform. Winning also makes it alot more entertaining as an owner as you get to see your hard work actually "mean" something.

As far as support goes, I too have been here since Season 2 and have owned the same franchise since Season 8. I have never had a single problem with any of the folks with support. From my experience, they've been rapid with their responses and if you've got a LEGITIMATE problem...they're totally on the ball.

To answer the OP though, I would agree with the majority here and to wait. The only reasoning I could see for getting a team early would be if you have NO experience in owning a team and/or no experience setting up AI's. If you have no AI experience, you could utilize that extra time experimenting with the DPC, creating offensive packages, trying different things with the depth charts, and testing different things in the OAI.

True. Also, whether you decide to wait or to buy now, find someone you can trust as a co-owner that is already knowledgeable in team ownership and have them "mentor" you. It's how I got my start in GLB.

Well I've been DC for many years and I owned a team back in season 10 or something. Right now, Its for a farm team for a network, I have a lot of people around me to help me. I have an experienced OC, a good CFO and great agents.

So I really think I should wait end of season to purchase the team.

Just want to chime in on this, my experience with support has been extremely good. For example, I sent a support message yesterday to then get a reply only 12 hours later. On the whole you get a reply within a day which is quite good and the guys that reply to you are very helpful too. They will always help owners out. Ownership is still good, as IRWT says you have a good network of agents and friends on this site. Since the OP has already got recruitment sorted and players organised, there's no reason for not buying a team

Buy a team now, lots have changed since Season 10. Owning is fun at times and then there are days thats its a pain in the ass, but overall the team will be as good as you want it to be, think too many people give up too early imo. Making a good team takes time and commitment, don't get discouraged if the first couple seasons don't go as planned

No reason to buy a team now, he should wait until the end of the season
