But when people start talking all kinds of derogatory shit, about other races, and some dumbshit makes a "joke" about black people hanging from trees is crossing the line. It was It's plain and simple low and offensive. To bad your to fucking thick in the head comprehend that.

are any of the african americans that are alive today been slaves? have any of their parents even for that matter? why do they get special treatment over me or my race? why is it ok for them to glorify the term honky, but when i say black i get raised eyebrows?

People have been hating people since the dawn of time - look back at any period of history and I'm sure I can find a group of people that were either killed/enslaved/persecuted by other people of the time.

I understand some people being sensitive about subjects if they are directly attacking them, if I say ALL mexican familys are poor lazy and good for nothing welfare soaking 15 children having stealing my job mother fuckers...but i don't...i make a random joke that is laughed at, the same jokes that are being written and told by blacks/mexican/asian comedians

if comedy and jokes offend you i am sorry, i'll dig up some Bob Hope for you next time and keep it more mild


Michael Richards defense speech - for those that don't know he played Kramer on Seinfeld, and went off on some black people who were sitting in the audience heckling him the entire time duing a standup routine.

Now I want to clearify - some of these statements are quite extreme and I DON'T AGREE WITH IT ALL, but the middle chunk of that is more where I agree

I've wanted to be that blunt for a while, but tried to appeal to the intellect...guess guess your way is more effective.

i mean it makes sense - some of those jokes were definatly a bit extreme, i didnt get a chance to notice the one about a black man hanging from a tree haha

the ones i saw were mostly harmless ones that i heard in 6th grade - the whole throwing a mexican and the black guy off the bridge or outta the plane or whatever

Jews are allowed to make fun of Jews

Blacks are allowed to make fun of blacks

Mexicans are allowed to make fun of mexicans

Whites can make fun of whites...

Maybe send your jokes via email to David Duke, I hear he is still making a mailing list.

But the one thing it helped me identify is that racism is a MUCH bigger problem in some places than others, and GLB seems to have quite a bunch a people with skewed views on what is 'good-taste' and what is bigotry.

None of you are stand-up comedians, or paid professionals so keep your day jobs and please feel free to tell these jokes loudly and proudly (as is your right). I am only exercising mine, and will continue to do.

If you think I have no sense of humor, so be it...I just don't see humor in cracker-ass, scared white boy, gringo republican jokes.

I have talked to you (in that thread) a bit on this subject and, for my own actions, I will tell you that I HAVE seen that level of bigotry directed at me. Both in Africa and in Germany. I have had bottles thrown at me, been forcefully denied entrance onto a bus, told I was not allowed to drink from a specific water fountain and been spat upon. With all that in mind, its the intent of the joke, not the joke itself that you should be frowning on. A lot of the jokes were based on stereo-types. And stereo-types DO exist for a reason - because there is a grain of truth in them.

Do the Chinese make their children study hard?
Do a lot of multiple Mexican families live together in the same household?
Do women get cranky during "that week"?
Do Russians drink a lot of vodka?

Now is it unreal to say that there are jokes based on stereo-types and that those aren't racist (as you seem to perceive) but are instead jokes ABOUT the stereo-type?

I would challenge that its not all racism in those jokes, but stereo-typism. Now, were some of the jokes racist? Ya, but when you started to get upset that wasn't neccessarily the case...

I am quite offended that you think I am just a gringo with a computer - that is a racial term and i don't appreciate the connotation that was behind its useage

Dude if you hate all the racism talk then why even continue to talk about it or expand on it? This was about a joke thread that crossed the line, because some people are fucking are disrespectful and ignorant. I will say this, I'm with you in the fact that each race has their pieces of shits. I was a Police Officer for 14 years in an extremely diverse area, and had to deal with the ignorant shit heads of damn near every race on this planet.

Sorry, but not all black folks sit around crying about "Where are my reparations" or complain about the way affirmative action is headed. Sure there is a segment that whines and crys like that, while trying to place the blame on everything and everybody but themselves. And are not willing to takes any responsibility. Just like there is a small segment of whites, who blame Mexicans for stealing jobs in certain areas. But once again IT's A SMALL segment, NOT the whole fucking race who believes those types of things!

Of course the media only exacerbates the situation and helps reinforce peoples negative views or stereotypes of each other. And if you somebody chooses to buy into thatI feel sorry for you.
