Novus, I understand that we might never achieve football perfection. I can't understand not wanting to get a little closer to it though. I didn't come here because I heard there was a "dotball" simulation to play. I came because I heard some guys were attempting a "football" simulation.
There's still a lot of stuff here that isn't at all convincing as a "football" simulation that could be if we work on it.
"Dotball" as is will soon bore most with it's limitations. The continual pursuit of a more realistic "football" sim is the only way forward unless a smallish clique of "dotball as is" fans is the only customer base Bort & co. need.

You are just wasting time to think GLB will correct this bad code..........
Just accept it, this game is passing oriented, and running game should be suck, deal it.

The main point of what I'm saying here is, "Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it."

Again, pointing to your example play, there's a pretty good chance that if your QB had waited for his lead blockers to get out in front more, he would've gotten nailed for a 2-yard loss by defenders coming through the gap that had opened up between the LT and the LG. By choosing to ignore his blockers and advance the ball, he turned a 2-yard loss into a no-gain play.

I'm not saying the blocking code couldn't be improved. But it's more complicated than "Just tell the ball-carrier to wait for his blockers." There are too many situations where that is the WORST thing to do, and then you'd have people making Suggestions threads saying that the ball-carrier's top priority should be to advance the ball rather than waiting for too-slow blockers to get into position. In fact, there was a time when people WERE making that very Suggestion, which is how we got the rushing code we have today.

Are we talking about GLB or EA? Because both have this same issue.

Which further illustrates this point: this shit is complicated.

If EA can't get this right either after spending over a decade and millions of dollars making their football games, Bort ain't gonna get it right in his Mom's basement either. Not easily, anyway.

If he does, EA will probably hire him and buy up GLB, and then we're all screwed.

I haven't bought an EA game in over 4 years. Do the FBs still just take off running down the field instead of lead blocking?

I dunno... last EA football game I played was in 2001, actually. But I've heard from other people that blocking still blows.
