There some secret setting to get my assholes to stay with their man. I know its rookie but the teams i play dont seem to have this problem. ..help

got it thanks. also, do you guys have any suggestions for early pass plays that seem to work well? I have some success with the hooks though not a much as i would like. streak type plays dont seem to work since my qb cant throw the ball far enough...i assume thats why my wr stop and wait for the ball, cause the qb cant throw any further..thus giving up any seperation they had

1) Really depends on the defense your playing
2) QB tactics come into play as well. I have been experimenting with the whole lofty or bullet setting and how lofty or how bullet to be. I go too lofty and I get less drops but more deflections. I go more bullet and get less deflections but more drops. Its frustrating at rookie level

well..most people at rookie play some version of m2m
and yeah...i keep tweaking my bullet/loft open/route settings too

the problem your facing is probably due to agility or vision.
if the WR has better agi he will stop and yr CB will still be running backwards...
i think high speed can be a disadvantage in some situations like this until you have enough agi for it

i agree..though it makes no sense. If my guy has 87 and the receiver has 70 or whatever..then i should only be runing at 80%ish my max and thus be under more control. This doesnt seem to be the case though..which has bugged me for 20+ seasons

Makes perfect sense, actually... even if you're only running at the equivalent of 70 Speed, you still only have, what, 20 Agility and 15 Vision at this point? I mean, these are Level 10-or-so Rookie dots we're talking about here. Even at only 70 Speed, if you only have 20 Agility, you're still gonna have trouble stopping and changing direction. And before you can even do that, you have to SEE that you need to stop and change direction, and for that you need Vision... and you only have 15 Vision, so it's gonna take longer for you to notice that, oh crap, that WR just made a cut.

I know you're frustrated, but these are low-level dots. There's just only so much you can expect from them. That's why you have to plan your defense to account for the limitations of your dots at these lower levels, instead of making the common mistake of just copying down all of your awesome World-League defensive plays and expecting Level 10 dots to be able to do the same things Level 79 dots can do. (And yeah, sometimes higher-level dots have trouble with this too, but I also see plenty of higher-level CBs who match changes in the WR's direction quite easily, so it's not just a sim issue. A CB's build really does play a role -- a BIG role.)
