(And for the record, second 16 seasons had a WAY better sim, first 16 seasons had a WAY better community. Not sure which I prefer more.)

Bit of a stretch.

The community from season 8 till about season 20 was godawful. Now it's just deadish.

Hmm, I wonder... wait, when was it that you stopped being a mod?

Just realized why my posting sucks tonight:

A.) I'm sleepy.

2.) I'm not drunk.

and D.) I was still wearing my Santa-hat avatar instead of my New Years Eve avatar.

The community was atrocious long before I became a mod, and was lively long after.

I was the stern but fair mod that GLB needed during it's darkest days.

But really, S8 was the downfall of everything.

The slam was widespread enough to blow the cat out of the bag for a large portion of users, resulting in immersion collapse. A similar effect happened in Diablo 3 for many people when they hit Inferno. Blatant problems with the game cause you to start looking at it mechanically instead of through rose colored glasses.

Once that barrier is shattered, you see all of the problems...and the forum turns to a bitchfest.

That ain't no shit. I was a DC starting in S5 and after dealing with that fucking bullshit in S8 I told my owner S9 was gonna be it for me.

Each time I've DC'd since then (4 or 5 seasons) it's been a miserable affair.

The sim is far, far better now than it was in those days however. Really no comparison imo. That doesn't necessarily make the game experience better, though it does make it more sophisticated.
