nah. i got some workaholics to watch. ya diggg?

By the way, I THINK whodey's explanation is correct... not written very clearly, granted, but still correct.

I guess I'd need to see the play in question that you're talking about, but yeah, if the line of scrimmage is at the 8 yard line and you attempt a FG, that will be a 25-yard FG.

Keep in mind, the distance of a FG is determined by WHERE THE KICKER KICKS FROM, not based on where the line of scrimmage is. That confuses people sometimes.

- The endzone is 10 yards deep.
- The line of scrimmage is at the 8 yard line, so it's 8 yards from the goal-line.
- The Place-Holder lines up another 7 yards behind the line-of-scrimmage, and that's the spot the Kicker kicks from.

10 + 8 + 7 = 25. So if the line of scrimmage is at the 8 and you attempt a FG, it will be a 25-yard FG attempt.

Got it?

If you leave the box blank than your AI will kick a FG 17 yards from where your AI says to kick a FG. If you say to kick a FG from the 15yd line or closer than he will attempt a kick as far as 32 yards away. 15yd line +17 yards for FG distance = 32 yard FG. If he is on the 8 yd line than it would be a 25 yd FG. 8yd line +17 yards for for FG distance = 25 yd FG.

How is my explanation not written clearly??

So... high school football, college football, arena-league football, and NFL football are all played by bitches? You've been watching too much Canadian Football, methinks.

And obviously you don't know how it works, because you were confused about why you were kicking 25 yard FGs when your AI Input says to only kick FGs inside your opponent's 15.

If you're at your opponent's 15, that would be a 32-yard FG attempt: 10 yards for the end-zone, 15 yards from the goal-line to the line-of-scrimmage, and then 7 yards from the line-of-scrimmage to where the Place-Holder lines up. 10+15+7 = 32.

So there.

Got it now?

You wrote a bunch of other stuff too that muddied the waters.

ProKop still should've been able to understand you, though.

They confuse people with that line. Just enter the distance you want to kick. If its 60 than you enter 60.

like this.

if i wanted to kick a 60 yarder, id put 43 in.

for rookie, i dont want to kick more than 32 so i put 15 in not 32.

i might just be sleep drunk but im not getting what the fuck is happening in this thread.

You are so confused man If you want to kick a 32 yard FG than you enter 32 into the box.

IF YOU LEAVE THE BOX BLANK
and you don't want to kick a FG longer than 32 yards than you have to use your AI INPUT to kick a FG at the 15yd line to the opponent goal line.

IF YOU ENTER 32 IN THE BOX than you don't need to worry about using your AI INPUT to set the distance. You just set it to kick a FG "when in FG range" under special circumstance in the AI.

this is what i was asking earlier........ and you guys said i was crazy.

FG input- opponent gline - opponent 15 = 32 yarder as max

FG box thingy- 32 = 32 yarder as max

this is what i said like 500 hours ago.

Okay, so we're all on the same page? Good.

Now quit asking questions before you get confused again.

It was your wording. You set you had yours "set" at 15 but kicked a 25yd FG. That came across as if you had 15 in FG box but still kicked a 25yd FG which is why Novus said you must have had an AI setting over riding it. You caused the confusion. Ya digg
