well i haven't seen any FB screens run against me so I wouldn't have the slightest clue that they suck too

Pretty much this and I was mostly referring to WR and TE Screens but the HB and FB ones suck too. I've been around enough to have tried everything, even Blocking TE's in the Slot with a Pass Blocking Focus and nothing works well enough to try in a real Game. I even tried TE's in the 4th and 5th WR Spots and do the WR Screen from 5-Wide to the Flanker and that pretty much is a wash as well. Seems like they should tweek those Plays or something? Jus sayin'!!

Maybe I'll try O-Linemen out there to Block like Wyoming use to do,lol?

Seems like screen plays have the same coding as interception returns...

They tend to try to force their way to the middle of the field regardless of defenders there.

By the way, they probably wont fix this, as they will not fix the interception return pathing.
Guess they claim it is working as intended.

Just sad that the OC's can't really run that style Offense and be successful if they had those type Player's and wanted to.

Well there's a few problems:

1) O-Linemen getting downfield TOO fast. First of all, it's a penalty in the NFL, second they are letting defenders through, who are then there to make tackles in the backfield etc

2) Poor pathing on receiver. Needs to have a vision check upon catching the ball (or right before it) to identify the open areas with running room.

3) Man coverage reacts way to easily to screens. Normally a man coverage DB will not bite on the screen pass because he'd be giving up a much larger potential play if he were to get beat deep. DBs are instructed, let him catch the ball, move up and make the tackle quickly. For outside screen plays (like WR screens) this is an issue, obviously not so much for HB / FB screens

those are the big glaring ones, I bet if you did the following tweaks, it would make screens viable:

-Don't allow for O-line to go 5 yards downfield until the ball has been thrown. They should attempt to chip block until then
-Have a vision check prior to (harder), and after catching the ball (easier) to determine best direction of running. Failed vision checks make them run the route how it was drawn up
-Make the vision check for a screen pass much harder for those defenders in man coverage on a WR or TE. Make the reaction to a successful vision check be to creep up and prepare to make a tackle, with a very good roll going for the deflection / pick

That sounds great!! Let's make it happen. Ran a TE Screen here and the HB Blocks the LDE which doesn't need to be Blocked, lol. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2171659&pbp_id=4707441

how often do OCs use WR screens anyway? I mostly see just straight HB screens

I think that is the OP's point.

All of those issues have already been brought to the table and this was what became of them.
