Yeah, they covered that in the op.

There are better suggestions to help out new users that have been ignored for a long time. An interactive tutorial would help out more than this suggestion. I see this as nothing but a network recruiting suggestion.

Nope, wasn't meant to be a network recruiting suggestion at all Dub J. I understand you are bitter about your experience, and maybe the devs have given up, but the suggestion was a honest one from me to try and help the game out based on my own experience. If you don't like it fine, but don't assume that I made it for other reasons. I tend to be a little idealistic and not bitter like a lot of folks around here these days.

An interactive tutorial is a great idea, anything to help with the learning curve for new agents. And yeah, all of this is probably a couple of years too late, but of the devs give a shit, then they should try something.

I can appreciate the fact you are trying to do something to help this game. It's just simply the fact that there aren't many new users and the people that have been here 4 years and still suck obviously aren't going to ask for help. If they were, they would have already done so.

No doubt Bort and Co. are working on their new project so the time they spend on this game is limited. That's why it's more important now than ever that they focus their attention on things that are much more urgent. Keep in mind that a couple of mods told us that GLB had "something big" planned when this game left beta to grow the userbase. Now we know that "something big" meant sending emails to a bunch of people who left this game a long time ago and have no intentions of returning.

Why implement something like this at this stage in the game? I could see 3 or 4 years ago but not now. It's almost comical.

well thanks for your thought on the matter.. lol

seems you have a deep hate of this game.. you do know that at any point you can just stop logging in right?
shooting down ideas to help the game grow. because they didn't work for you... a bit single minded..

we get it you hate the idea.. mind if a few other chime in?

No, I love this game and it royally pisses me off that the dev gave up on it too soon.

This suggestion would not be nearly as effective as an interactive tutorial. With the tutorial new users would have to learn the basics step by step, hands on. This suggestion leaves it up to the new user to ask for help. That's pretty much the same system we have now and it's obviously failed miserably.

That also isn't even addressing the other concerns I have regarding this suggestion. Such as people using this to fill up their farm teams/networks or what the criteria would be in order for someone to be eligible for being a mentor.

Well so what.. even if people used this to train dots for the owners teams .. who cares... as long as people are learning and getting vested in the game.. in the end you can only have 55 dots on a team.. I for 1 am very much past I want to own 5 teams part of the game.. I don't think I'd volunteer as one of the team owners anyway TBH. But I would not be pissed if a network grabbed the top users off a team.. That's part of the game.. recruiting.. If someone is going to take the time to teach you to build.. My guess is you would lean towards wanting to hang with that person.. Pretty much how most of us made contacts on the way up..

interactive tutorial would ROCK!!! if they stopped freaken changing shit every season.... hell they don't keep the basic help guides up to date... But ya I 100% would love to see them add that..

This season is scary.. I have seen more people losing interest this season then I have since the season of no Offense.. I'm pretty lucky.. I know a bunch of solid agents.. I never have any real problem recruiting.. But it has to be a bitch for a new guy who knows nobody and little about the game to get started.. Anything that can help that.. is good idea..

Catch what are the numbers of new ip addresses joining over the last 2-3 seasons? I'm betting it's more then you guys think..

So you would have no problem if I started up a network (and trust me, I could build a massive one very quickly) and was appointed a mentor and the admins turned you down for a mentor spot? You wouldn't be pissed that many of the new users were joining my network and I was filling up farm teams while your network stagnates?

If you answer "yes" to this I'm calling bullshit.

You're talking about a guy who stated GLB has 30k users.

We're out of beta. You're not going to see anymore changes...Bort has said as much. They're only going to fix bugs from here on out.

This would inevitably lead to a huge nasty thread of pissed off networks, I would be absolutely shocked if it didn't.

I would have NP at all.. Dub's My teams are filled.. we don't have a problem recruiting... We have lost some GREAT Agents over the last few season.. it sucks. But we never have a problem finding new ones... Why would I get pissed if you put the time in to build your network? you and I both know how much time it takes.. dot checks.. 100 pms back and forth.. if you put the time in to teach someone to play I hope they decide that your a good guy and they want to hang with you..

People like to win.. as long as I am putting out good teams. recruiting will not be a problem... I am not worried about that at all..
The day comes when I can't play solid.. and my teams are not playing well.. that's on me..it's prob time I do a self check and find out why.. I took 8 seasons off of this game last time I burned out...

I have no fear that the trainers will end up with all the talent.. If they are that good. so be it.. if they are not.. people won't stay with them anyway..
