I think after 255 the game should be called, and bonus points should be rewarded for the time remaining.
Bonus points could be used to bump team chemistry. (1 chemistry boost for every 15 minutes

Example:

If there are 16 minutes remaining when a team scores 255 points, then that team would be able to use a 1 point boost to their team chemistry any time they wish. This could be during the same season or following season.

So then if there are 4 games where a team scores 255 points, and total remaining time adds up to around 30 minutes, then the team would be able to use 2 points to boost team chemistry. Again, this can be done any time the team is under the same ownership.

I think this would have more purpose than a 450 - 0 game

Yes/No?

Blow out games are boring to watch.

I know everybody's heart is in trying to get the game to more realistic levels but sometimes... some things just are what they are. #1, Get rid of CPU teams. (Not gonna happen and should not happen).
#2, stop rampant scoring. (Can't get rid of CPU teams so can't get did of 255 games).
dahman is looking hard for solutions... but they all come with consequences. Rewarding anyone for scoring 255 points in a game (team or individual) leads to more teams seeking lesser competition for those rewards and even MORE 255-0 scores. Having a "Mercy rule" (like they do for softball games) also creates issues with stats, mvp races, blow-out adjustments, and endorsement EQ (which seems to be biased towards MVP candidates... whether or not that is true, it surely gives the impression of that). In other words, it causes more issues than it solves.
GLB has, at least, tried to blunt (tone down) the number of lopsided games by increasing the competitiveness of CPU dots. Perhaps the next step would be to have CUP teams having better AI's and reactionary coaching (like when AI make adjustments to working/non-working plays. I've always felt CPU teams don't do nearly as quality a job as human owned ones do.) These approaches are the best bet to limit lopsided games... but I seriously doubt they will ever go away.

The correct response is adjusting the AI of CPU teams, since they have already adjusted the CPU Dots. But even that will not address Player owned but gutted teams. I like to see a "SUPERBORT AI" kick in at a score 0-50 that overwrites a losing team's AI and allows for a more competitive performance. Either that or hulk up the CPU dots and make them roided up animals.

Do you really think teams that look for these blowout wins will really fair that well in "real leagues"?
We all know what we call people that wander through forums to simply post fodder, these are the same types that would find weak leagues over and over and over, and never really win "ish".

This is never a solution, but a reward for having to suffer through a boring game of CPU mindlessness where the game should be over after the team scores 255 points. If the scoreboard says 255, let the game end at 255. What is the point of continuing to play? Scoring 308 points?

End the game and whatever time is left give the team a small chemistry boost. Maybe it can be adjusted to be only used during the season they accumulated the blowouts instead of anytime. This way I guess there would be less incentive to try to gain a bunch of chemistry points and then use them the next season.

So amended.

Hee... No!

Don't even open that can of bull, I can see human dots being replaced already.
Maybe give the team a morale decline after leading by 100, and give the blown out team a morale boost.
(similar to your "SUPERBORT AI" thought)

This could make these game more appealing if anything else

The roids would go away once the score gap was 49 or less.

The sim is screwy enough as it is, would probably have some unintended side-effects to non-blowout games as well.
Let's not, and say that they did.
